So I have been testing out this new system for a couple of weeks, and although this is nowhere near a large enough sample size, my results have been pretty good thus far. The system involves betting against the public, but with more selection than simply taking going against them. I look for teams that the public has bet <20%, but also where the line moves against them. The obvious fault here is that I'm not getting the line at it's best value, but I'm OK with this because essentially I'm betting with Vegas. If the majority of money is going on Team A, and the line then moves in Team A's favor, obviously there is something everyone is missing. There's no reason for Vegas to give you a better line on a game when everyone is already taking that team with a worse line. Like I said, at this point the system is being tested, hopefully proving my hypothesis that this is profitable to be true. If anyone has any input on this I would appreciate hearing your thoughts.
