    College hoops Tip Sheet

    **Texas at Duke**

    –Las Vegas Sports Consultants opened Duke as a 1 1/2-point ‘chalk’ over Texas for this contest at East Rutherford, New Jersey. CBS Sports will provide coverage of this contest beginning Saturday at 1:30 p.m. ET.



    –Texas (8-0 straight up, 3-1 against the spread) continued its winning ways after throttling Rice Monday as an 18-point road favorite, 85-58. The Longhorns have been winning their road endeavors by an average score of 76-64.

    –Texas cruised after jumping out to a 46-26 halftime advantage, and shot 47 percent (35-of-74) for the entire game. Brad Buckman stepped up with 17 points and 11 rebounds, while LaMarcus Aldridge added 17 and 10.

    –The Longhorns fell to Duke in 2003 as a three-point neutral-site underdog, 89-61.

    –Duke (8-0 SU, 3-4 ATS) remained the top team in the land after dumping Pennsylvania Wednesday as a 22-point home ‘chalk,’ 72-59. The Blue Devils are a pedestrian 1-4 ATS their last five outings.

    –Duke’s defense forced 16 steals, while shooting guard J.J. Redick netted 24 points and Shelden Williams added 20. Sean Dockery accounted for 11, helping the team shoot 49 percent (23-of-47) from the field.

    **Kentucky at Indiana**

    –LVSC lists Kentucky as a one-point road favorite over Indiana for this contest at the RCA Dome in Indianapolis. CBS Sports starts its coverage of this matchup at 3:45 p.m. ET.

    –Kentucky (6-2 SU, 2-2 ATS) rebounded from its home loss to North Carolina by steamrolling Georgia State Tuesday as 13-point road ‘chalk,’ 73-46. The Wildcats broke open a close game by outscoring the Panthers, 43-22, in the second half.

    –Kentucky shot a blistering 52 percent (27-of-52) from the field, led by Shagari Alleyne’s 16 points and six rebounds.

    –The Wildcats are 2-0 both SU and ATS the past two meetings with Indiana after winning last year as a 12-point home ‘chalk,’ 73-58. Kentucky also won in 2003 as an eight-point road favorite, 80-41.

    –Indiana (4-2 SU, 0-3 ATS) takes the court for the first time since Tuesday’s loss to Indiana State as a 6 1/2-point road ‘chalk,’ 72-67. That marked the third game in a row that the Hoosiers failed to cover.

    –Indiana entered halftime with a five-point advantage, 35-30, before being outscored, 42-32, in the second half. Ben Allen led all scorers with 21 points while also grabbing seven rebounds.

    –Kentucky center Randolph Morris has been ruled ineligible for the entire season, while forward Rajon Rondo (strep throat) is ‘questionable’ against the Hoosiers.

    –Indiana forward Sean Kline (knee) is ‘questionable’ versus the Wildcats, while forward D.J. White (foot) is expected to miss a couple of weeks.

    **Illinois at Oregon**

    –LVSC installed Illinois as a three-point road ‘chalk’ over Oregon for this contest at Portland’s Rose Garden Arena. Fox Sports Net starts its coverage of this game at 8:00 p.m. ET.

    –The Illini (9-0 SU, 4-2 ATS) dumped Georgetown Thursday as a 7 1/2-point home favorite, 58-48, improving to 4-1 ATS its last five outings.

    –The Illinois defense allowed the Hoyas just 13 points in the first half. Dee Brown accounted for 16 points and James Augustine enjoyed his fourth double-double of the season with 10 points and 13 rebounds.

    –The Illini own a 3-0 SU and 2-1 ATS road record, winning by an average score of 67-58.

    –Illinois throttled the Ducks last year as a 17-point home favorite, 83-66.

    –Oregon (4-2 SU, 3-1 ATS) is mired in a two-game SU losing skid after falling to Georgetown last Saturday as a 6 1/2-point home ‘chalk,’ 71-57. The Ducks had covered three games in a row before failing to do so versus the Hoyas.

    –Oregon was in the game before allowing 43 points after halftime. The Ducks were dominated in the paint as the Hoyas outscored them, 37-20. Malik Hairston paced the offense with 17 points on 6-of-8 shooting along with five rebounds.

    –Oregon is 4-1 SU and 2-1 ATS at McArthur Court, beating opponents by an average score of 78-54.
