Alert NIT,CBI,NIT Action today. Betting Discussion

handicapping these games is much different. Motivation,Psychology,Coaching take a much bigger role and if you don't have a good handle on the personality of these teams be careful.

difficult how to cap how a slighted team reacts, some are out to prove something others give up.

look for young coaches that have turned a program around recently, they still have the fire and are looking to move up the ladder so every win is a chance to get seen by a bigger program eventually. They get their kids ready.

"I'm not racist BUT" Look for teams with multiple upper classmen White guys that play a lot. They typically have no illusion that they are going to play Professionally and know this is their last chance to play with hustle and heart.

Remember most games are held at higher seeds Home court. Sometimes with scheduling issues it can't be, so always check the location. Sometimes games are held during Spring break of that team. Take a 1 point off at least for home court advantage in that situation. Check the team webpage and twitter if possible.

look for smaller schools that will be on a ESPN or ESPN2. These kids know they'll be on a bigger stage and want to show out more as they don't typically play on the big ESPN channels

check that all players are still on team, this time of year coaches get fed up with goofballs that are always late, mouthing off, smoking weed ect. see alot of dismissals for breaking team rule type stuff.

    post your angles here

    good luck

    almost forgot biggest thing

NIT has rule changes including a huge increase in 3 point distance.

The 2019 NIT will feature four rules modifications:
    • The 3-point line will be extended by approximately 1 foot, 8 inches to the same distance used by FIBA for international competition (22 feet, 1.75 inches).
    • The free throw lane will be widened from 12 feet to 16 feet, consistent with the width used by the NBA.
    • The shot clock will reset to 20 seconds after an offensive rebound instead of the full 30 seconds.
    • Team fouls will reset at the 10-minute mark of each half for the purpose of determining free throws and one-and-one free throws will be eliminated. Teams will shoot two bonus free throws after the fifth team foul of each 10-minute segment. Additionally, teams will be awarded two bonus free throws after the second team foul committed under two minutes remaining in each half if that foul occurs before the fifth team foul of the segment. In each overtime period, team fouls will reset, and teams will shoot two free throws beginning with the fourth team foul or the second team foul committed under two minutes remaining if that comes before the fourth team foul of the overtime period.

The first three experimental rules also were used during the 2018 NIT.
“The style of play in men’s college basketball is healthy and appealing, but the leadership governing the game is interested in keeping the playing rules contemporary and trending favorably,” said Dan Gavitt, NCAA senior vice president of basketball. “Experimenting with two significant court dimension rules, a shot-clock reset rule and a game-format rule all have some level of support in the membership, so the NIT will provide the opportunity to gather invaluable data and measure the experience of the participants.”
The experimental rules will help determine if a marginally more difficult 3-point shot will be effective for men’s college basketball and if widening the lane will reduce physicality and create more driving opportunities. In addition, the number of possessions and any impact on the pace and flow of the game will be evaluated.

“The NIT is an exciting event with a rich tradition and history, yet it also provides us a platform to consider how the game might look in the future,” Gavitt said. “We’ve seen the adoption of recent experimental rules and how they have had a positive impact. This track record of the game evolving is a result of us having the flexibility to see if the rules work and are met with satisfaction, so we appreciate the support and partnership for the good of college basketball from our membership and our broadcast partners at ESPN.”

Great info. The rule changes for the NIT are big. So hard to gauge motivation. Rather lay off these games but they can be bankroll builders for the big dance. Good luck.

Home crowd should at least give them the motivation to play. Good fans there so it should be packed.

Back to my chalk roots. NC State and Providence ML parlay. Was gonna go with Temple but chickened out. They win for sure now. They have the guards to do well. Just afraid Belmont gets hot from deep. Will be tougher with actual competition though. Belmont didn’t even play anyone OOC to be able to bitch if they didn’t get in. 0-7 in the NCAA tourney as well.

Forgot about spring break. NC State just back from it. Phew. Students should show up to support them being snubbed. When Syracuse got snubbed, we came out in droves to support the team. Best crowd I’ve ever been a part of. Was first come first serve so diehards finally got to sit in good seats. Not the old blue hairs that sit on their hands. Provy back too.

NC State really proving they belonged. I forgot how bad NC State is. Figured they could handle Hofstra. Better adjust at halftime or all that bitching about the tourney won’t mean much.

They don’t look like they have it in em tonight. That longer 3 point line isn’t helping since they can’t shoot. We’ll see. Gotta go to half down single digits at least.

Temple will win since I had them plugged into Providence's spot at first.

Think this is a good indicator for the SEC doing well in the big dance. Arkansas missing their best guy and looking dominant. Like a few SEC teams to make a run. Deeper line is big in this game. Still alive though. Got it to 10. Stupid foul to make it 11 at half. Will be an interesting 2H line.

Hope the NCAA moves the line back and widens the lane. Three pointers are like layups at the college line. Would make the game flow better with better spacing. Not a fan of the FT change though. Keep the 1 and 1.
