Work out a deal with PickMonitor that allows users to track plays there without leaving the SBR site.

Everyone is miles ahead of Rudy, but don't tell Rudy that.

It's a shame he's cluttering Think Tank threads, without reading I'm sure he's not posting anything relevant to the thread topic, probably trying to fight posters.

Worst of all, he's probably claiming he calls it like he sees it or claims to be some kind of advocate.

Remember, he tells outright lies about posters and posts in hopes he can create drama. He thinks it's good for SBR, but then everyone wonders why so many posters quit posting.

It's because of guys like Rudy that the only thing left are the drama queens and attention whores.

Keep up the good work Range and my condolences to anyone who killed their time responding to Rudy. I doubt it was productive.

Yeah, "only" sounds strong, but it's making a point that I've seen posted by many on a daily basis, it's not meant to insult anyone.

Those who don't fit those two categories know who they are and know I'm not talking about them.

If you're not sure, that's not on me it's up to you to figure out what you like to read and post about on SBR. You may be more about the garbage and drama, it's fine if that's what you like to read....

Quote Originally Posted by hotcross View Post

Again, it's fine if that's what you like so don't be insulted, but many of us disagree with your sentiments. The garbage is high and the gems are not here.

And garbage is fine, it's all in good fun, but some relentless trash just needs to be taken out.

As for me, I'm in the category of I don't really post here anymore as there's some value in the subforums and then drama, fighting and posters telling people to stop the drama and fighting everywhere else.

There's a handful of posters I don't even read and they start most of the threads and make most of the posts anymore, at least in PT.

So I post much less often and am finding less and less to read here.

I'm with the many in that category.

I check in to see if things are different, but until I see a genuine set of posters that don't just tail or fight or lie to create drama about each other (like the political threads) and until I do see some posters who want to actually learn about the markets and what they might be watching, I'm just not going to be very active. I'm willing to teach and learn but this Forum is not attracting that kind content.

There are far too many posters that just can't stay on topic in the threads; just look what's happened in this thread, and many others, even the Think Tank now.

Maybe one day the fog of deceit will clear up, posters will stop lying to themselves and everyone else, and then people can get past having to call each other liars and fight about it all the time. This is the reason a Political Forum was created, because it became one self burial after another and needed to be moved to it's own place, where only those e-warriors check in.

I'll pick up the posting as March Madness nears and will probably power post a series on the whole event. I think it's best to show by example and I'm anticipating some great examples this year. My posts will be about sports betting.

Of course it will all be in one thread and of course it will be tracked.

As far as this thread, posters should recognize the value in tracking bets. Like I always say, if you track your bets and why you made them you will have access to information that even the sharpest syndicates don't have; that is until we make you.

But it's not the information, it's how you use it.

Oh and this thread. like many threads, could use a little of this...

KVB you missed the sarcasm in the second quote. We have the same point of view.

Its just that saying we only have attention seekers and drama queens, or that nobody here can do basic math (Booya in another thread), doesn't help the cause.

Maybe I am guilty of the same with my sarcasm. The question is what will make SBR great again? I'm trying to contribute to that.

You're all good HotCross. I got your point because I know a little about you posting and what you like to see at SBR. I knew there was sarcasm and joking but threw it back at you anyway..that's my bad.

I am certainly guilty of getting a little too serious sometimes, then wafting right into messing around.

For the most part you are risking $110 in the tracking so the difference may not be much until you start laying for NHL and MLB.

I find it hard to believe that Houston -145 in the NBA was worth 32% more risk than the Portland +6 (-110) in the same league.

If you have bets worth 32% or more risk than other bets, you might think about just making those better bets.

If you're just using the "to win" $100 or bet $100 on underdog prices then you may be affecting your're bottom line.

One thing is for sure, you are changing your breakeven point each time.

I don't think posters should be required to post records. If people want to tail or fade a poster, they will find out soon enough, what they want to do. For me,win or loose,I post my record on a daily basis. What I find interesting...there have been a few times were I had made an honest mistake,in my numbers...for ex. instead of a YTD +11.55..it should have been YTD +10.45, and a poster would point it out to me.( which I appreciate).................but there have been many times, were I purposefully made a error against me...for ex. instead of YTD +10.45, I put down YTD + 9.35 !!.....Not one time has a poster, pointed out this error!!......For me, I hope that all, here at SBR make money!! However I believe, that many out there.....hope you loose!!

This is a good topic. If I find an angle I'll usually just keep it short, and let the bettor decide for themselves. Maybe they agree, maybe they disagree. I don't have all day to document all my bets. Although, I might try that spreadsheet thing. Besides, just because I may have been on a hot streak, I don't want some dude betting his rent money on one of my picks.

A snippet of code can be written so the poster's signature includes their record from their spreadsheet on this site... which as was talked about in another thread should be auto-graded by SBR, not the poster.

    interesting subject....

so many people - including me - seem to often just use the forum as a blog for themselves... picking posting picks with no context i.e. no opponents, venue listed or reasons why you like the pick....

i think making "adding some color" to each pick mandatory is a much better idea........... opponent, spread, home/away, 5-10 words as to why. would be sufficient... i think people would be highly supportive of this being mandatory.........

people aren't going to track their results over long periods of time. at best it'll be record in that thread. and then people will go quiet when they're losing and start up a new thread later. i don't mean they'll do it to be deceptive but more just human nature to start with a fresh, clean slate...........
