Kansas transfer Dwight Coleby commits to Western Kentucky
Former Kansas Jayhawks talent Dwight Coleby has committed to the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers, a source told FanRag Sports on Saturday. Per NCAA rules, since having graduated, Coleby will be immediately eligible to play for the Hilltoppers in the upcoming season.
Coleby is coming off a junior season in which he did not receive much playing time for the Jayhawks. By the time the 2016-17 college basketball season was over, he averaged 1.7 points and 1.8 rebounds per game. He also shot 56.7 percent from the floor and did not attempt a shot from beyond the arc.
As for Kansas, the Jayhawks finished last season with an overall record of 31-5. The program is coming off an NCAA Tournament run that ended with a loss in the Elite Eight to the Oregon Ducks, in which Coleby played four minutes off the bench.
The Hilltoppers finished the 2016-17 campaign with an overall record of 15-17, failing to make the NCAA Tournament. The team last made the NCAA Tournament in 2012-13 and last won a game in the Tournament in 2009.
Coleby spent the first two years of his college career as a member of the Ole Miss Rebels, before he transferred to Kansas.
