Wow I'm actually really surprised. I thought Minnesota would open as at least a 7 point favorite considering this same MTSU team was a 15.5 point underdog last year to Michigan State and was given a fricken 15 seed, which says a lot about what quality of team it was.

Now they leap to a 12 seed with the same players, and they're actually favored pk -115 against Minnesota? What do you think? I was comfortably picking Minnesota on my brackets, but now I'm going to wait to see what the public does with this.

Are you sure Minnesota opened at -3? I was refreshing the BetOnline sportsbook like crazy and the very line I saw a pick 'em. Minnesota isn't that good, but I would think they'd be favored decently over MTSU given the solid coaching and high-quality low post guy. Gotta wait and see who the public slams here. Gut say MTSU is going to just shoot like 40 three's and Minny will be playing catch up, since I assume MTSU is probably some run and gun team that jacks up threes and focuses on good rebounding technique.

Yeah I'm gonna see where the betting public, ESPN fantasy public, and even Covers public are and if they're ALL on MTSU, like say 75-25, I'm easily switching all of my brackets back to Minnesota. I'm sorry, this team was a fricken FIFTEEN SEED last year. Do you know what that means? And it's not like Conference USA is the Southland or the SWAC. To be a 15 seed out of C-USA, you really have to suck, and I don't care if they pulled off a big upset, they were still 15 point dogs to an MSU team that wouldn't be favored by more than 7 over this Minny team.

Exactly. NCAA tournament seedings don't mean a fukkin thing. For all we know the committee is probably drunk when making the seeds. And judging by this year, I think that actually may be true.

I think Middle Tennessee will beat Minny. If you've watched this team this year, you know they're good. Giddy Potts is an absolute stud & is probably the best player in this game. And THE SAME TEAM can improve over a year and they definitely have.

I agree a pk is very surprising. I was in attendance when they beat Vandy by 23 earlier in the year. Also beat ole miss and VCU came down to the last few possessions. They can't help their conference but they did their job and got 30 wins which is hard to obtain regardless.

How about the fact that teams improve? If you have a core group of college players from year 1, one should expect progression the next year. And lets not forget, they made that seeding look silly last year. It's not as if the committee doesn't make mistakes.
