Would UCLA be favored over teams like UVA, Florida, West Virginia?
Usually avoid dealing with know-it-alls that don't gamble/are clueless but have this moron telling me that UCLA would be an easy favorite on a neutral floor over those 3 teams even though Sagarin, KenPom, and any other advanced metric I've saw say otherwise. His response was futures odds that UCLA is more favored to win it all. That in itself was enough for me to dismiss him but just want to make sure I'm not going crazy.
UCLA would be the underdog in each of those games.
I even went as far to say teams like Wichita State, SMU, and possibly even Saint Mary's would be favored/very tight dog and I got the "they'd be double digit underdogs". Like it or not, its up to us sick gamblers to either educate or keep our mouths closed in regards to the clueless public. Should come up with a cool SBR forum shirt making fun of casuals
I can't see Virginia holding up as a favorite vs. UCLA.

Really? I guess its possible but I think that late lull by UVA would be the only reason why. Now that they've put together 2 really good performances I would say they're closer to the team that was a 6 point fave over Louisville at home and a 5.5 point dog on the road at Nova.
Or I should say normally theyed make them dogs in each, but if put out today because of public perception theyd prob make UCLA favs over each of them though. We know the number man cares nothing about rankings rather ratings. Each of those teams are rated higher than UCLA but UCLA is ranked higher than each, if the ranking is seperated by a great distance the number man may use that info to shave the number down some to balance out public perception.

I don't think it really matters what the line starts at when the public sees UCLA as a dog or as a small fav against any of them I would imagine they would pound the shit out of UCLA. Everyone seems to be blowing their load over UCLA
Point I also wanted to make. The opening line because the public would def be all over them. My guess is you'd see sharp action all over the other side but who knows on that to be sure
UCLA would be 2.5 point fav over Gonzaga and we would know who to pound (the dogs from Spokane)
Bruins will get bounced by a team that has A) good shooters on offense, & B) good rim protectors on defense
