Figured it was time to start posting and share my thoughts for this season. Let's get it started.
Maryland -12 W
A UNCC team that just got pounded by Florida by 40. They don't have the offense to keep up with Maryland
Loyola-Chicago Pick L
10-1 against the spread playing some great ball. Barely lost to a decent NC State team and they play great D. I lIke them against a mediocre Toledo team.
Monmouth -4 W
At home versus an overrated Princeton team. For some reason Vegas loves Princeton and they don't like to cover. Give me the veteran Hawks at home.
Iona -7.5 W
Neutral site game but Iona scores too much for the Gauchos. UCSB is 0-6 against the spread this year. The Gaels should win by double digits.
Nevada -11 L
Because Santa Barbara can't cover and Nevada has a very efficient offense.
George Washington +14.5 W
A Colonial team that is getting hot. Shooting 46% from 3 in the last three games. Both teams rank in mid 200s as far as tempo. I think GW keeps it close.
Denver -10 W
Going on the fact that Riverside has not lost by single digits on the road this year. UCR 1-6 versus the spread. I'll take the Pioneers.
Northwestern -3.5
Their only two losses are at Butler and neutral site versus Notre Dame by a combined 6 points. A talented defense that has allowed more than 70 ONCE all year. Give me the wildcats to open up conference play with a win.
Wake Forest +8
Wake is a strong offensive team that just blew the doors off LSU. FSU plays the paint well but Wake has the big bodies to hang. FSU also doesn't close out games well.
UNCW +9
Top 25 in offensive efficiency bodes well for the 11-1 Seahawks. Clemson may also be looking ahead to conference play and underestimating how good this UNCW team is.
UCLA -2
UCLA is steamrolling everyone and this is an Oregon team still trying to figure out who they are. Too much talent for UCLA. Could be a trap game but I'll back the bruins
Up 4 with 9:23 left in the game, Wake only score 9 THE REST OF THE GAME. FSU goes on a 17-0 and wins by 16. Thanks Deacs, couldn't even keep it together to cover 8.
Georgia +1.5
Auburn has been a surprise team in the SEC but they haven't beat anyone noteworthy. Their top 3 scorers are all freshmen who haven't played a conference game before. The veteran Bulldogs are the more complete team.
