Pink Sands is a solid play. He should get good trip and the pace to get them at the end. Curious to see where he'll end up 6-1 ML.

    Belmont Saturday 6.13

    Race 1

#12 No Sense (8/1) , First off this barn just is always overlooked, and thats why Dave set this Morning line @ 8/1 for this firster. When Manny Rides for Kelsey, It goes way up. This is a 75k bred animal , yes in for a tag @ 40k, but it would take a really good assistant to drop the ticket in the claim box here right now, so Im seeing it as a realistic chance to win on debut. Pure bred Street Sense / Street Cry , has a near bullet gate breeze down in Tampa 27MAY going a half mile in 48 & 4 , they shipped up to get work over the track here and fired a 48 & 3 (7/61). This barn, while overlooked in NY , has won 17% outta 84 races this year, 9% of 32 starts with firsters , and 15% overall on the turf in over 100 mounts. So while, not quite known for firsters, doesn't need to be much here. I am not interested in the rest of this field, betting wise, only taking a shot on this 3 year old gelding at probably a better number than this to WP. But since this race can go several different ways, Im going to quickly write on each…

#1 After Prom (10/1) , Chris Englehart, had the right idea, claiming this now 5 year old down in saratoga and went to the turf , just missing cashing a check. Will be less than these odds, and I would only use underneath. Junior riding outstanding, especially on the lawn.

    #2 Fairpit (20/1) , Complete toss

#3 Come On E.V (8/1) , While rudy is not great on the turf, nor with firsters, there are some things to note here. Chestnut Gelding went almost 3x the fee at auction, and His #1 pilot Reylu is assigned. Wait and see approach for me, but not lost as their is a hidden work back in march from the gate going 48 & 2 , and tighten up here on the 9th.

#4 His Boy Elroy (12/1) , Complete toss

#5 Catch That Party (6/1) , speaking off hidden works , this grey gelding has some spectacular ones, 09FEB, goes 47 & 4 good for 8/183 horse that morning. surround by average ones, then 22FEB 48 & 3 7/87. Javier enticed to ride here? Cannon be dismissed, for Carlos Martin, who is a not terrible 10% trainer on the lawn over 166 races this year.

#6 Tempesta (15/1) , is really tough to decipher. Im intrigued that Mr. Lawrence , is moving way up in class here, but the condition book up here, makes that choice for him, gets in light with the 111 pound apprentice who has been striking, but underneath only for me.

    #7 Coragescontender (20/1) , Toss

#8 Dawns Early Light (3/1) , Tries the turf for the first time, Bayern has some sneaky turf kids, while being a dirt, horse, but this mare has zero. Kendrick will be on the bridal early, but taking 3/1 on this favorite is not for me.

    #9 Unlikely (30/1) , Toss

#10 Our Troubardour (7/2) , Has some recent form, but Mr. Barker didn't put this one back on the grass after some decent races, will be overbet and again unders only.

#11 Mitzrayim (10/1) , Takes the biggest drop in the game, and kept some really nice company , but hasn't shown me anything to back, even on that drop.

#13 Yousaidhello (15/1 AE) , Should take a step forward as a 4 year old. has a couple nice works for the comebacker , barn is awful off the bench however. Needs race , but look forward to the next one.

#14 False Alarm (20/1 AE) , Amira got here first win as a trainer , since taking over for Contessa. But I just don't see this one here.

12-5 are the only ones I'd be betting to win,

    12-5 / 8-1-10-6-3

    Race 2

Ugly Race , #8 Gaultier (30/1) , 7 year old gelding is 16: 5-3-1 on the grass vs 7: 1-1-1 on the green. Pringle who is 1 for 3 so far at the meet, put the blinkers on in the last on the dirt and clearly did not respond by tossing the rider, but Howell does return (doesn’t get much opportunities i know) but thats always a positive sign. Second off the layoff in this spot, and did fire a bullet in prep for the most recent @ 48 flat. Why not take a shot on the aggressive move up after a race like that. #1 Catch a Cab (7/2) , comes outta the Criminal’s barn, but I find it interesting landing in Makers stable, and Joel to ride, tells me this one will be ok (hopefully) while we are rooting hard for these we keep underneath. #2 Zinger (8/1) , Junior for Morley, makes sense underneath. #4 Bold Daddy (6/1) , Another one from Servis’ Barn, Irad rode the last 3 but not riding this weekend due to severing one of many suspensions. Lezcano is ice cold, but fits underneath. #5 Plutonian (10/1) , is overseas shipper for ward and Jose, but coming over to be sold for 25k , has many questions. #6 Spectacular (30/1) , won 2 of 3 last time in for the tag, sharp work 10JUN , has a chance to upset this weak field. #7 Armament (6/1) , has been uber popular at the claiming box, and being outta war front, finally gets back on the lawn? makes sense to me. #10 Quality Choice (12/1) , Nevin has been firing this meet, which makes sense as she is strong off the bench, dropping in class here. #11 Golden Spear (5/1) , Intriguing to see Johnny rider here, 8 year old been swallowing money up at the windows for years now. #12 Ghost Hunter (9/2) , Could get the stalking trip, but again UNDERNEATH.

6-7-8 are the only ones I’d invest at prices for on top, 1,2,4,5,10, 11,12 all under candidates

    Race 3

#1 Primacy (2/5) , Looks like she wins for fun. #7 Arima (12/1) , Always pay attention when Manny rides for this barn, but probably minors only vs this chalk. #6 Dare to try (8/1) , Dutrow’s filly should really appreciate the cut back, get the blinks , post a solid work tab (as his do) Retains his loyalty to Pablo, and will be trying to wire this field, in case the chalk doesn’t show up. #2 Back Channel (3/1) , I don’t like linda with firsters, but the 400k purchase from a 35k sire , is hard to ignore, once again her #1 pilot , along with her barn, is freezing right now, so only underneath.

Maybe the 6 can wire , but the 1 seems to tough…

    Race 4

#2 Wesworld (8/1) , should of been on the turf from jump, and the fact Javy rides and the huge hike in class, tells me there is something here. #4 Fluent in Sarcasm (9/2) , First time in Maker’s barn on the lawn, with dirtied up dirt races, cannot be ignored. Jose Rides. #12 Lord Camden (6/1) , has kept good company and should like the cut back, logical underneath. #9 Go Rudy Go (8/1) , will be trying to wire the field but will come up short. #5 Long Island City (12/1) , Wasn’t bad on debut on the dirt , small Z pattern always a positive, should step forward here. #1 Disciplanarian (3/1) , Been bounced up and down the ranks, could crash the party but zero chance using on top being so short.

    Race 5

I like the setup in this race, the #1 Horocope (15/1) , #2 Pipes (10/1) , are going to be sent and create some decent fractions. the #4 Sea Foam (7/2) , drops in and will be trying to stalk, Joel is finally back riding lights out, clement on the drop here and loves this distance. Why not put the #6 Durkins Call (10/1) , Closer for Bill Mott , could get his 5000th win in this spot as well. #7 Twisted Tom (7/2) , Avila is the most underrated trainer up here, Reylu on the rise and this one makes a ton sense sitting off the pace. #8 Playwright (3/1) , Gargan numbers are crazy and Manny won the last 2 aboard here, Cannot dismiss. #9 Fleet Irish is always overlooked at the windows and could land a share.

    7-8-4-6-9

Clearly the early sequence, is extremely difficult and honestly not that great of racing. But could find a few individuals scores here

    Race 6

Jeez another bad race, for a saturday card, and looking at the #7 Pocket Change (8/1) , running line after leaving the criminals barn, makes me sick. But I think we can win here. #10 Outrageous Bet (15/1) , is one of those Amira’s taking over for Contessa (I think she is showing great will to take over for Gary and he retired due to all the NY training rules, and she is sticking around and showing great heart, will all that responsibility) 6 year old has a chance on the cut back, as Junior takes over. #8 Kittens Cat (3/1) , Is the most likely winner here, Maker has Jose and will definitely be around the finish. #6 Honey Wont (6/1) , is Mott/Joel but I prefer underneath, just isn’t quite god enough to win. #9 Pagliacci (7/2) , another rice / Lezcano that must be left underneath for now. I think the #11 Bourbon Mission (20/1) , runs a huge race a price and is exactly the type of horse we look for in handicapping NY, coming off 2 off tracks , now getting back on turf and manny comebacks for rudy. #4 Celebration (9/2) , will be trying to wire but most likely comes up short.

I love the 11 here @ 20/1 across the board bet,

but the 8,10,11 im interested on top / 4,6,9 underneath

    Race 7

We’ve seen this show , Shug took all these layoff horses down to Tampa in those low level MSW’s races for a tune up and comes right to NY and is 6: 3-1-1 so far this meet. Just lights out right now. Manny takes over, and major player, just look at the works up here. Would droll over 6/1 on #3 Windfall Profit (6/1) , Love that Chad brown has 2 firsters in this field as well, to eat up money that im passing on. #10 Too Sexy (5/2) , Johnny/CC can ignore but for this price on top. #11 Derby Brave (12/1) , has been working well for the debut and he employs his #1 pilot in Junior. Look out, drawing outside. Both Brown Runners #5 Cost Benefit (7/2) , & #2 Dovima (6/1) are fade city for me, but of course wouldn’t surprise. Casse’s #6 Tizlegal (8/1) , Perked up on the turf off the bench down in Florida, and could take another step forward, but im leaning to a like performance and that race did not come back strong.

    RAce 8

Loaded with speed here, I believe the #9 Behind the Couch (5/2) , is ready to stalk and strike , Jeremiah started to get it together yesterday. #7 Officer Hutchy (4/1) , could get perfect setup to break the ice for these igloo connections (who Ive been against going back last year)

Only these 2 for on top

Loaded 6 horse field , you already know Im rocking #1 Pink Sands (6/1) , Sets up perfectly as long as one doesn’t get away. Shug on fire… Loved #5 Ollie’s Candy (8/5) , last out at a price and just missed but had the super that day regardless.

Even with a loaded speed affair , I have to use pletcher #2 Bean Counter (8/5) , he has been showing these routers speeds this meet with moretti and even blewitt friday. But i wanna include #5 Hurricane Breeze (4/1) , to stalk and maybe get the setup with Maker/ JAvy and the #6 Corey Scores (5/1) , Joel/Cox dead closer in field with speed.

Just those 3 for me on top

clement, pletcher and I think chad have employed the same strategy.. their owners don't care about the extra $15k or so winners share.. get your horse the experience vs easier competition so you don't use to hard first out.. before covid mattered it also probably was a little more of a serene environment vs gulfstream
