i disagree. that opener of 4.5 seems awfully low. i was expecting it to open at 6. this game will be closer than people think

If the conference tourneys don't matter why are they giving out automatic bids for winning them? If the conference title doesn't matter, why are they crowning conference champions. They can't have it both ways...........it either matters or it doesn't. For Duke it obviously doesn't matter.

it gives teams like albany and robert morris a guaranteed way of getting into the dance. you win your conference tourney, you're guaranteed a spot.

dukes loss to ND in the acc tourney was bad, but still theres no way there are 4 teams better than them in the country.

i just cant agree with jumping duke in the seeding with any of the #2 seeds

Conference tournies matter if a team that would not have made the NCAA otherwise win them, and crowning conference champions can be seen as an accomplishment in itself without necessarily correlating to what the selection committee does.

tell murray st conference tourney doesn't matter. and ask any coach if they prefer to be #1 or #2 seed. all of them will choose the #1 seed.

You are talking about a one-bid conference with Murray State. I am taking about teams already assured of NCAA bids, with those teams, conference titles are not as important as overall resume, and based in that Duke certainly deserved the one-seed with those road wins.

They did not. The selection committee gave Duke the easiest path to a championship in the history of this tournament. I can't believe the teams they had to play to get to the title game.

Re-read my post, I said TO GET TO the title game.

Duke plays mid majors SDSU/Utah/Zaga/#7 seed MSU. Wisconsin plays UNC/Zona/UK.

it would not have mattered anyway

Better conference, better schedule, better wins. Should count for something. And they beat Wisconsin TWICE. End of story.
