I think the difference in guard play will be huge... I can't see cook, jones, rasheed hanging with chris jones, blackshear, and rozier... such a huge difference in physical stature and defensive play there.

what up ya'll? life got unexpectedly hectic on me last week,, slowly starting to get back to normalcy.. i got all morning today so lets talk some hoops and find some winners..

just starting to look now,, didnt read all of thread yet but right off the jump gotta say i like uga quite a bit. havnt hit them yet, figure might as well wait and see if i can get better price.. think they match up well here. the teams that have caused the dawgs problems are teams that play up tempo. think it fair to say they much more comfortable playing their gms in the 60s and we know gators not gonna force the issue. fla been playing better of late but we still talking about a team that has all of one solid win all season... imo the better team is the short home doggie here..

trying to convince myself that i wanna play tex even tho they have looked like ass for the better part of a month..even tho there not many worse coaches than rick barnes, year after year this dude somehow manages to get the absolute least out of lots of talent..

that said i think there things to like bout the matchup with wvu. wvu really depends on smashing teams on the offensive glass to help their offense cause they not a good shooting team. there really no reason horns cant at least hold their own on the glass if not win in that area..

i would think that tex is equipped to handle wvu's pressure seeing how they generally have a couple point guards on the floor, of coarse trusting that takes a bit of faith cause horns turn it over far too much against teams that dont apply pressure..

i dont think holmes at the 3 will hurt them defensively as much in this one as i did vs the sooners where i was pretty certain whomever he tried to check was gonna put up numbers, he should have a big adv on the offensive end but barnes being the shit coach he is holmes has shot 11 treys the last 2 gms instead of getting his big ass some better shots against undersized defenders he keeps jacking shit up (did i mention he has missed all 11, sad). obviously this point sounds kinda like another negative but i do believe the kid has enough talent to preform better than his last several gms..

bottom line here as mentioned i think horns will rebound with wvu, if neers dont have a big rebounding edge then their poor shooting becomes far more glaring. that part im pretty confident tex holds up their end of the bargain. turnovers the part that scares me but at the same time i think tex has the personnel to handle wvu's press. if/ when this turns into a half court gm ill take tex on both sides, they at least mildly better offensively in the half court. more importantly horns are among the best in the country in fg% defense while wvu allows teams to shoot a gaudy 49.5% from inside the arc all the while sending teams to the line more than almost every div 1 program...

hate the idea of backing a rick barnes team to turn things around but i think tex-2 the play..

i dunno, understand wanting to fade them but there things i dont like. umass gonna get to the charity stripe quite a bit, on same note RI doesnt have much size or depth down low and i could see them in some foul trouble dealing with lalanne and esho. i think umass been showing signs of playing better of late, oddly enough it been more so on the road than at home but i wouldnt expect that to continue. then there the huge disparity in sos, RI hasnt beaten anyone, they have played the few good teams they have faced tough but at end of day they havnt beaten them and i think you also gotta consider how many fts they allow against that schedule.. i wouldnt be against ya but i dont want any part of ri.
