I'm looking at the early games tomorrow, I'm gonna go with South Carolina Upstate +15 vs. Maryland. SC Upstate is a pretty decent team, with a win over Georgia Tech in Atlanta. Maryland just won over North Carolina Central by 11 points, I think SC State and NCCU are comparable team. So SC Upstate +15 is the pick.
I'm going to take Oklahoma -4 vs. Tulsa for my next bet. I think Tulsa is severely over rated, they are coming off a loss to SE OK St. and a close win against Arkansas Little Rock. The only ranked team they've played is Wichita St. which beat they by 20. Oklahoma is coming off of a solid win against Missouri and an 8 day break. I think they're ready for this game. So Oklahoma -4 is the play.
I'm going to take Mississippi St +2 vs. Oregon St. Miss St. is coming off of a road loss at Tulane and look to bounce back. I've seen Oregon St. play a couple of times and am not impressed. They don't have a #1 scorer. I like Miss St. on the road.
Troy +4 vs. Austin Peay
Oregon St./Grambling over 114
Troy looks to be a decent team, they are 0-2 on the road, but those are against decent teams in Georgia and Southern Miss. They put the ball into the hoop at almost 74 points a game. AP's only Division 1 victory was against Brown, not very impressive. I have to learn Troy with the points here.
When I saw the over in the O st./Grambling game I could almost not believe it. Then I saw Grambling is averaging 47.5 points a game. I really see the Beavers putting up 70-80 points here. That means I would only need 35-45 points from Grambling. They put up 54 on Notre Dame and 46 on Ball St. I'm hoping for that many here.
Got one bet for the early evening tonight. I'm going with Mercer -4 against Dartmouth.
Mercer is coming off a decent win against a VMI team that wants to get up and down the court. I've started using ESPN's BPI index to look at games recently. VMI has a BPI of 244, Darthmouth has a BPI of 247, though they play totally separate styles of games I think mercer can adjust. Dartmouth is coming off of a pretty bad road loss at Jacksonville St. which totes a BPI of 278. Dartmouth's only road win is against UMASS Lowell, while they have losses to Hartford and a 20 point loss to St. Bonnie. I like Mercer giving up the 4 here.
Looking at the slate of games, I think I've found another I like, Vanderbilt -10.5 vs. Western Carolina.
I like Vanderbilt here, because they are solid at home. Only one loss by 3 to Baylor. Western Carolina is coming off a road loss by 20 to Minnesota, I consider Minnesota and Vanderbilt to be similar skill levels. I think Vanderbilt wins by 15-18 in this one. Good Luck!
