UNC at dook '79: The 7 point half

    http://www.newsobserver.com/2014/02/...asketball.html

Good read. Carolina took 2 shots in the first half, missing both, and dook led 7-0 at half. 80 point second half would follow. Smith was stalling and trying to get dookies out of their 2-3 zone. Talks about other ACC games that probably made more than one person stick a fork in their eye. Thank god for the shot clock.

I do think that games like this forced the creation of the shot clock. Not sure how Dean Smith could do this when he usually took the floor every game with the more talented team. Come to think of it, how did he win only 2 NCs. And the 2 that he did have had significant assists from the other team (Fred Brown's pass to Worthy in 1982 and Webber's TO in 1993).
