    More on the UNC pick:

    TABLE TALK
The Tar Heels look to start the season with a statement at home against a much lesser team. North Carolina is coming off a season where they finished 3rd in the ACC and made it to the 2nd round of the NCAA tournament before losing to Kansas. This year they hope for even better results, as they bring in new talent and retain some of the talent that led them last year. However, some of the current stars will be missed tonight due to potential NCAA violations.

In terms of production, North Carolina had a top 20 offense last season, as they averaged almost 77 ppg. Their problems came on the defensive end though, as they ranked in the bottom half of the NCAA in points allowed.

The Golden Grizzlies are looking to get back to their winning ways after coming off their first losing season since 2005-06. With 2 NCAA tournament appearances in the last four years, Oakland has an understanding of what it will take to make it back this year. They will have their hands full to start the season, and they are hoping for a slow start by the Tar Heels tonight. This game should be controlled by North Carolina throughout the night. If you like free college basketball picks, take The Tar Heels minus the points to start the season.

    RUNNING THE NUMBERS

Oakland was 8-11 ATS on the road last season
Oakland is 6-15 SU in its last 21 games on the road

    2) Charleston @ Louisville -21

Louisville ready to defend their title. With returning stars and new kids ready to make an impact, this should be a home court massacre. Last year, the Cards beat Charleston on the road 80-38. More of the same today.

    3) W Carolina @ Oregon -16

Oregon came away with a good win against Gtown last week. Now they turn their sights on a lesser team. W Carolina is 5-14 SU in its last 19 games on the road. Oregon is 15-2 SU in its last 17 games at home and 2-7-1 ATS in its last 10 games at home.

    4) W&M @ Wichita St -17

State has won by 17 and 43 in its first two games. W&M is 2-11 SU on the road recently. This should be better than a midnight tip off for Wich St.
