No closer now than I was this morning. Cinncy and LVille lose. Damn. I guess it is over if SMU wins out.

I have a feeling Louisville will take the gas pipe tonight just to spite me.

If Louisville wins Saturday, that should do it. As it stands now, Louisville wins the tiebreaker over Cincinnati as long as Memphis does not finish third.

Almost makes you wonder who you should root for in Cincinnati/Memphis tomorrow.

Yeah I think the right answer is it does not matter as long as Louisville wins Saturday. But worst case may be Memphis beats Cincy and Louisville loses to UConn.

You mean the tiebreaker for the top two teams depends on who finishes in third? I just can't win

Yes because Louisville & Cincinnati split. Next tiebreaker is to go down the standings and see how the tied teams did against each team until tie is broken. Memphis beat Louisville twice. SMU or UConn would suit Louisville fine since Cincy lost to both and Cardinals did not.

So do I need Cinncy or Memphis to win their game? Memphis has 5 losses, so I guess I need them to win.

The system actually makes sense. Good luck seabornq, you are back off the matt and have a live shot now thanks to the big effort at SMU

I am not sure it matters because regardless of who wins tonight, they might be at least one scenario where Louisville does not win the conference. But regardless of who wins tonight, at least what needs to be done for Louisville will be known once it is over. I'll try to post the scenarios after the Memphis/Cincy game if I am around. And no matter what, I think a Louisville win Saturday clinches conference no matter what.

Yep, very straightforward now. Louisville clinches either with a win or a Cincy loss. Only way Louisville does not win AAC is if they lose AND Cincy wins.

I can deal with that scenario. Louisville wins at home and I win, nothing else matters.

I am seeing CINCINNATI won the top seed in a coin flip and I have no idea why!

Mitchell88 posted a link in the other thread that explained it most clearly.

    http://www.gobearcats.com/sports/m-b...030714aab.html

I was under the assumption that SMU would be considered the third place team because they are the three-seeds, but the way the tiebreaker works is it looks at the records of the teams tied for first vs. the teams tied for third (SMU, UConn, Memphis), and both Louisville and Cincinnati went 4-2 vs. those teams combined.

    I am really sorry seaborneq

last line says any teams tied for 1st are regular season champs, regardless of seeds. It's my understanding this coin flip determines seed for conference tourney.

I think at worst seaborneq gets a push here. I cant imagine this would be graded a loss on the result of a coinflip.

It's time to step back and reevaluate things. This is worse than any buzzer beater.

No it is a LOSS. In the event of a tie, the #1 seed in the AAC Tournament is considered the winner.

Yes as specifically stipulated in the rules, so nothing shady. It is like losing a coin flip for money.

No offense, but I think your right, I would re-evaluate your future of gambling. A season long future, that ends in a coin-toss is just brutal. What makes things even worse is LT had you convinced a W yesterday would guarantee you the victory. Now that's just brutal.
