Name a No. 3 or higher seed you think can go to the Final Four

My somewhat-conservative pick is New Mexico. Lobos are a 3 seed, yet have all the makings and I think they got a pretty good draw. To me, they're in the weakest region by far.

Still think St. Louis could make a run as a 4, but I doubt they get past the Elite 8. Michigan State is always an obvious and choice. I still think Florida could do some damage as a 3 as well. All of the 3's are dangerous to me.

Wichita State is a team I don't think anyone wants to play, including Gonzaga. I think they'll give Pitt trouble, and they could stir things up with the Zags as well.

    arizona

played like pigs the last couple weeks but they have the talent and after the tight loss to ucla and miller's meltdown it's the type of thing that can get a team refocused

oh and the region blows....safe to say a high seed is most likely to come out of zaga's region

The West will get a 3 of higher to the Final Four. The hard part is figuring out who.

This year is wide open. I agree New Mexico's bracket is wide open. The advanced stats have Pitt as the 6th best team in the country. Right behind Gonzo and Wisky. They could be an 8 seed Final 4 team.

Saint Louis seems live to me, but I'll wait until tomorrow night to fill out my brackets. Strategies differ depending on the rules. I like SBR's this year with the upset bonuses in every round.

Like all 3 seeds except Marquette. That team will get bounced 1st weekend.

    He did touch that ball

    The tournament really doesn't matter.

This is Lute's successor he has done one heck of a job and I look forward to the future with this team under his wing.

Sean Miller - I salute you. Now THAT'S passion.

StLouis, Wisconsin,VCU,Mich,Syr,Butler, could realistically get to F4. Outside shots and wildcards: Minnesota,Iowa St,NCSt. Minny cannot win on the road and they probably should not have been invited in the first place but there needs to be some crazy team in the mix that nobody saw coming.

I don't think you can ever count VCU out of the mix. They are in a region full of vulnerable albeit talented seeds like Kansas, Michigan, Georgetown and Florida.

Saint Louis may be the most dangerous mid-major this year. I give Billikens more of a chance to reach Final Four than Gonzaga.

Kind of interesting to see Florida at +800 over Kansas +1000. Guess im not only one who think Kansas is over rated.

Good point was made about VCU earlier today though -- when they get into neutral/road situations where they aren't allowed to reach and grab as much with their pressure, they become much more vulnerable.

Can't score the ball enough. Jackson isn't quite "there" yet as a PG either.

You put Jordan Taylor back on this team and I agree.

That's enough for a no from me at least.

You never know how officiating is going to be, so I don't think you should assume that they only have success because they are allowed to get away with stuff. Look at Louisville, they play a physical style of defense too - they are allowed to do it though be it perception or whatever. That doesn't win them games, but it doesn't hurt that they are allowed to bully other teams while the same style in the same game from the opposition - like Syracuse last night - gets whistled. It's an advantage if you get away with it. But there are no guarantees.

I think VCU has that perception now as a high pressure team. I'm not going to assume they will or won't get calls as I don't think you should assume that for any team in the tournament.

I just see vulnerability in their bracket if they play their style and make threes. If they rattle Trey Burke, Michigan is going to have a really tough time in my opinion to beat them. Kansas later if that is a match-up has some experience, but also has guys who can be rattled. I'm a big KU fan, but Elijah Johnson is a sloppy PG. Tharpe runs that team better, but I remember how bad KU was against VCU's pressure a couple years ago. I'd like to see if Self learned anything if they play again.

Nothing would surprise me this year. This tourney is wide open and for the taking. There's a few top seeds I do not think will win but for the most part it's anything goes this year.

Final Four dog options = MSU, UNM, Florida, or UNLV.

I really like SLU this year but unfortunately for them I think they got put in a region with the toughest 1 seed, toughest 2 and toughest 3.

I don't see Wisconsin doing more than the Sweet 16 myself. Their style can be a bear on short prep, but their likely 2nd round match (sorry it's still 2nd round to me, not 3rd) with K-State is against a coach who knows that style inside and out. I wouldn't sleep on Ole Miss in the opener against them - they've proven to be a great team at making adjustments at the half. I wouldn't be surprised if they struggle early against Wisconsin, but make a push to beat them in the 2nd half.

Michigan would be my pick. Call me crazy, but as big longshots, I'd give NC State and Creighton a shot as well.
