NCAA Hoops Teams 20 Years Ago would Crush today's teams?

College basketball is the only sport where the teams 20 years ago would crush modern day teams. Agree/Disagree?

More talented today... but the lack of 4 year players makes a difference.. also I think some college football teams would beat modern day teams... 95 neb. 80s miami teams.... sure would be fun to see some match ups

The 91 and 92 Duke teams would beat the hell out of all four final four teams this year. So would the 91 UNLV squad. The Duke teams combined talent and fundamentals, something rarely seen in todays one and done scene.

Those Duke teams would beat the balls off of any team in college basketball today.

People forget so easily what that 91 Duke team went through.

The year before they lost to an UNLV team that put together the longest winning streak in college basketball history and many were calling them the greatest college basketball team ever.

Duke beat them in the tournament and then went on the win the title not only that year but the year after too.

That Duke team would fukking own any team today.

Fab 5 had no defense or shooting you can't compare them to Kentucky

Lost the title game by 30 to UNLV in 90 and then came back and beat the very same UNLV team that hadn't lost all year in the Final Four. Great game. And lets not forget perhaps the greatest NCAA game in history played at the Spectrum when the Dookies beat the Jamal Mashburn led Kentucky Wildcats to go back to the Final Four. Some folks don't remember that the Duke squad played in 3 consecutive Championship games.

Yes, but that was almost all Grant Hill. Hurley and Laettner were gone then and tha e 94 team was no where near as good as the 91 and 92 teams were.

    UNLV
    UCLA teams from the 70's
    UNC with Jordan, Worthy, Perkins
    Duke 90's
    San Francisco from the 55-56

Too many teams to list, even teams that never won championships were better.

These teams are weak, no superstars, average talent, weak fields. Ugly basketball.

How about the '75 and '76 Hoosier teams? '76 was the last college bball team to go undefeated.

The teams of the past were much older than these kids of today so of course the 70's, 80's would crush them

    YES 76 Hoosiers! Regular season

In 1975–76 Knight led the team to an NCAA championship without a losing a game (the last men's Division I squad to achieve this feat).[1][2]

UNLV wasn't even close to the longest winning streak.

Definitely. Especially the last 5 seasons. Since that 2001 Duke team, which was ridiculous (I think 4 guys still in NBA and obviously JWilliams would be if not for the motorcycle accident), the only really great team was Florida in 06/07.

I wish they would just let guys go straight from HS to nba, but adopt the NCAA baseball rule where if you go to school you have to stay at least 2 years. Baseball it's 3, unless you go to juco, but even 2 would be better than this current garbage.

2001 Duke & Arizona would crush this years field, i think OSU w/ Oden and Conley is better than this years OSU. The Florida back-to-back teams IMO better than this years Kentucky. 2002 kansas kills 2012 kansas.

1998 Duke team, one of the most talented team ever to choke it in the Finals.

Elton Brand, Corey Maggette, Shane Battier, Trajan Langdan and William Avery. All 5 five guys got drafted in the 1st round.
