Well fan wise yes we are probably looking ahead but no way the team is. Most of the kids on the team aren't from KY and probably dont give 2 shits about Louisville so they wont be looking ahead.

Uk will blow the door off Baylor. Baylor is shaky and undisciplined. It's goons be a total destruction.

In the entire history of sports wagering, this is the biggest lookahead of all-time?

A chance to play in the final four?

Yep, this game is sandwiched between playing two rivals; Indiana and Louisville

And then you have the hype of a Louisville-Kentucky game being the biggest game in the state's history. I doubt any team in the tournament's history has ever been in this spot

Kentucky coming off a big revenge game and cover of DD. This usually bodes well for a "non" cover in the following game as a Fave when the line is close to DD

All they heard yesterday with microphones and recorders stuck in their faces is "what do you think about playing Louisville in the next round/Final 4" ,, "It will be the biggest game in the state's modern history" . etc etc

Baylor will have to beat Kentucky and the refs. Good luck with that.

The thing is Baylor matches up better with KY than Kentucky's other opponents.

Perry Jones inside will be a tougher matchup for A-Davis than anyone he's faced. Jones is a legitimate NBA prospect. Davis hasn't really been challenged and if Jones brings his A-game, Davis will certainly be challenged tonight. Then you have Heslip and Lamb and Heslip can get really hot.

Moreover, Acy is a very physical player who has the potential to score plenty around the basket and will match up with Gilchrist's motor.

And in the backcourt you have Teague and Jackson. Both of them can create well off the dribble and are confident players, and more often than not good decision makers.

Kentucky has T.Jones and D.Miller , while Baylor has Q.Miller and A.Jones .. all 4 players are athletic and experienced enough to be factors

really don't think that this is a look-ahead spot for UK. i think that Baylor could well cover for match-up related reasons discussed above, but it won't be because UK is already thinking about the Final Four. Cal's been great all season at keeping this team focused on the game and opponent in front of them, hard to believe that they slip in that regard now.

tough call ATS. by my count, UK has had 11 games this season against elite teams (ken pom top 20), Baylor is 17th. here's how they went:

    Kansas (N) -6' -- won by 10, ATS W
    UNC -6' -- won by 1, ATS L
    @ Indiana -5' -- lost by 1, ATS L
Louisville -9 -- won by 7, ATS L (was on UK; UL hit 2 threes final 4 seconds; still my worst beat of the past year)
    Florida -9 -- won by 20, ATS W
    @ Vandy -4' -- won by 6, ATS W
    Vandy -11' -- won by 9, ATS L
    @ Florida -5 -- won by 15, ATS W
    Florida -9 (N) -- won by 3, ATS L
    Vandy -7' (N) -- lost outright, ATS L
    Indiana -10 (N) -- won by 12, ATS W

UK 5-6 ATS against elite teams. of course, you could probably parse those up more finely (ending of UL game was retarded; UK didn't even show up for SEC tourney). i think that this one is really hard to call ATS, and i'd really have a problem backing a shithead like Scott Drew in a big game. however, it's worth noting that only 2 of the 11 games above went over 145 points (second Vandy game, second IU game). thinking under might be best option.

The last time Kentucky played an Elite Eight game where a win would set up a meeting with Louisville in the Final Four was against LSU in 1986. LSU was unranked and had a 25-11 record entering the game against 3rd-ranked Kentucky, who had a 32-3 record. Kentucky was a 1-seed while LSU was an 11-seed. Kentucky was more heavily favored in that game than they are against 9th-ranked Baylor today.

Shave 6 points off Kentucky do-to the refs.
The refs did all they could for Florida but came up short.

Don't like the fact that the crowd in Atlanta will be 90% pro Kentucky from what I'm hearing.

Baylor is not the most mentally strong team and if they get down by a bit with that crowd they could roll over

college basketball has changed so much since 1986.... the kids are all younger and way less experienced.... not any senior leadership so hard to compare the decades

That matters little. The money involved is huge compared to back then.

Basically this tourney is as straight forward as you can get with no upsets. Missouri and Duke don't count for anything.

The only question is what the line will be against Louisville. I find it hard to believe they are only +200 right now to win final four game.

Isn't that more of a reason to fade Kentucky then, or are you saying they're just too young/dumb/naive to realize that they're in a lookahead spot?
