I'm not saying short favorites never cover, but they seem to lose the majority of the time. Somone should look up yesterday's results.

Off of the top of my head teams that were -1 or -2 that lost

    Old Dominion
    Temple
    Minnesota
    USF
    etc.

This happens every weekend. Teams like Temple are easy money and people jump all over them because they are only -2. Then they lose straight up.

Miami is at home in a must win game against their rival. I could see how the average person would love to take Miami in this spot.

It's not as easy of a play as you think. At least, I don't think it is.

And yes, I can see Miami winning here. I like the over more than anything.
It's because the natural reaction of a bettor is to take the team at -115 or -125 or even -130; same goes for -1 or -2. They basically view that team as the "favorite" and you're getting them as a virtual PK, when in reality, with home court factored in, that's not the case at all.

You never hear anyone say "this team's +110 -- I'm sold" even though you should.

    That's very true.

I think it's a mental thing to think the odds are in your favor or you're on the right side if your paying juice instead of getting it at like +110.

I used to think that way a few years ago until every team I took -1 and -2 started losing.

Opening 2nd Half line is Florida State -1.5. So Vegas thinks Miami (FL) will win this game?

Over backers look dead in the water @ 130.

That explains all the bullshit traveling calls and charges being called against FSU before the half. I saw around 53% of wagers on FSU spread, around 63% on the ML.

Sometimes I wonder how these college kids even meet the minimum requirements to get accepted to a university.

After a dead ball, the Miami player caught the ball at mid-court with 4.1 seconds left and immediately shot a half court shot. The ball went out of bounds with 3.4 seconds left and Florida State had time to make a few passes, dribble, and take shot.

When the clock is stopped after a foul and your team is in bounding, how do you not know there is 4 seconds left? How do you just catch the ball and launch it from mid-court as soon as you touch it with no one around you? Seriously, how dumb are some of these guys?

I have no dog in the fight but it pisses me me off when these guys do such dumb shit.

Jamie Luck strikes again. Watch his games over the years and you'll know why this game is 24-20 Miami at halftime.

Not "squares," but it was a public play.

A "square" play is only square after the fact -- when it's a loser.

Did you forget the part where you told people Uconn would win? Jesus, can we keep the handicaps off the boards please? This is downright embarrassing.
