St. Mary's and Murray aren't going anywhere come tourney time. As for best mid-major, tough to split Wichita State / UNLV / Saint Louis

WCC is weak this year and believe it or not, Murray State is not even in tournament yet. If they lose in conference tourney (a real possibility as they were never as good as their record anyway), do they get an at-large playing in a terrible conference? And if they win their tournament, they will probably be overseeded.

i probably will agree with u on murray although they have stud guards who can win games in tourny, if like u said they get in...i don't know if they would desrve an at large....wcc is kinda weak, but zags and st marys can play with any team in ncaa besides kentucky, cuse, kansas and north carolina...everyone else they could beat if they play a good game and shoot well

Unlv doesn't feel like a mid major, because of thier past glory years. And is Atlantic 10 really a mid major conference? Seems to always have really good teams.

The only mid major with enough personnel to win a championship though is Detroit despite the bad record

Under that logic you'd have to think about Iona as well.

Iona has 0 size/rebounding/inside defense though still a dangerous team because guard play usually more crucial in March

I meant it as they have great dynamic guards like Detroit, but play no defense.

Yes to Atlantic 10 and yes UNLV IS is mid-major. A mid-major is a team not from the 6 major conferences (ACC, Big Ten, Big 12, Big East, Pac-12, SEC). The thing is Pac-12 is actually ninth ranked conference in the country according to the Pomeroy Ratings even behind 3 mid-majors (Mountain West, Atantic-10. Missouri Valley), but I didn't make up the rules so Pac-12 is still considered a major.

Butler won't make NCAAs this year unless they win Horizon tourney.

Whoever said Louisville is wrong, they play in the Big East, ergo they are not a mid-major. Temple is a team to watch, they destroyed Xavier last night, SLU also good but prone to really bad shooting and being sloppy. After Temple A10 is very balanced so it's hard to predict who else might make a run but UMass, St. Joe's, SLU, and La Salle are all possibilities.

Fixed it. Saint Louis is clearly better than second-tier teams you mentioned and they are ranked MUCH higher than Temple on Pomeroy.

Sorry LT I have been following the A10 for a long time, closer than any other league, and respectfully disagree, I put SLU along with Xavier in the second tier as the only A10 team I expect to go to the dance is Temple, after them it can be 2 or 3 others but who those others will be is yet to be determined. Did you not see UMass dismantle SLU? They were embarrassed.
