an exchange of ideas. a lot of people make statements that sometimes may be interpreted other than how they are intended when they are looking for an explanation of an opinion versus stating what is thought to be a difference of opinion. and...even if it's a differing opinion, everybody can learn something. ayo, is good, really good, but not perfect, so allow other people to ask questions or state opinions, without attacking them. who knows, someone may give ayo something to think about that might improve his already proven skill and ability. i think some of us are just wanting to know the logic behind the numbers and wanting to learn what their capping processes are versus just tailing them. btw, a couple years ago, i posted a differing opinion just wanting people to allow ayo to post his picks, but i realized i had no idea why he thought that or what was behind his or others opinions. just tailing somebody's picks didn't teach me anything.

He's not here to teach you anything. He makes it explicitly clear to use discretion when tailing his picks. Your point is valid and I agree with everything you said in principle, but if you've followed the thread for any length of time, then you know that there is rarely explanation for why a team/game is chosen. As long as discussion stays civil, I know Ayo has stated numerous times he welcomes any open exchange of ideas. I just think the hoity-toity, highbrow nature of the modeling post was asking to get made fun of. All in good fun though!
I think Capy said it best, if you want to talk about straight up modeling, there is a sub-forum dedicated entirely to exactly that where it could pick up traction.

i didn't say he was here to teach me anything, however, that doesn't preclude me from wanting to learn something. making it explicitly clear to use one's discretion to tail him does not say, don't ask me how i came to this conclusion. so to be explicitly clear, unless he's made you his official spokesperson, why don't you speak for you and let him speak for him. so far, all i'm learning is that nobody is really interested in trying to help anybody learn anything.

Lange promised a much improved defense headed into this year, that has proven to be false. Have had sporadic injuries with key guys at times. Daly being out is never good - offense is much more fluid with him in the line up. They continue to bomb from 3 at an alarmingly high rate which can pay off if you hit a decent percentage, but similar to last year they haven’t. Haven’t been impressed with new pieces including Bishop who I was very high on preseason. Biggest issue to me continues to be on the defensive end and that’s a recipe for disaster when you start your season with Auburn, Kansas, Tenn, Nova, URI, Bonnies.

Quite a bit, especially with practice being limited during the layoffs.

The back to back matchups have been the toughest to wrap my head around. weird season
