Knicks Made A Meaningless Trade In Getting "The Bully"

Why were they so insistent on wanting Carmelo? Seriously why? Yes he's a star in this league, arguably the best pure scorer in the league, but he's not going to make Amare better nor is Amare going to make him better, Carmelo isnt a guy that comes off picks and scores, he's more comfortable in isolations. He isnt a guy Amare can feed of either as in him setting up Amare for baskets. The Knicks disrupted a decent team in order to get more fandom back in New York. Meanwhile Denver disrupted its team also but they knew Carmelo wasnt staying so its best to trade him, at least with the draft picks they can start fresh now. Im finished with what I had to say, but I could continue on. P.S. free Albert Johnson.

Getting Billups along with Anthony makes Knicks better. One good free agent pickup will make them a contender next year.

The Knicks didn't give up too much for him, the Nets were willing to give up their whole team for Melo. N I really don't get where you're coming from with Melo is overrated look at dudes stats since he came to the NBA, plus the Knicks were just 2 games over 500 with the guys they traded (which is okay only because of our previous records but no where near a good team standard).. Teams cannot just double Amare anymore cause Melo can score, n Billups will make u pay for it... Corey Brewer is alright but will def benefit coming off da bench with Melo and Amare in the mix!!!

Billups is old. Not sure he can run D'antoni's fast paced offense for long.

Denver made out huge in this deal.
Felton, Chandler, and especially Gallinari are studs.
Melo was not going to be a Nugget anyway..
really like Denver a lot more now. These players will bring intensity and hunger
    back to Denver.

Melo doesn't play defense which is why a lot of people think he is overated.

This move paves the way for future free agents(Chris Paul, Deron Williams, Dwight Howard, etc.) to come to New York and form an all-star team of their own. Great move for the Knicks.

How soon we forget things.......Melo and Billups had that team in the Western conference finals just 2 years ago, this Nuggets team won't even sniff that success now....

Trade is good for both teams, even if it doesn't show this year. Denver now has a REAL chance to rebuild. They already have some young talent, and with the extra draft picks, can add to that talent. NYK now have bargaining leverage when it comes to signing the next big free agent. I agree that Melo and Amare probably aren't the best combo, but if they can add another superstar to that mix......

Well this trade gives the knicks two top tier players, just how good they are is debatable but they are both AS worthy players.

With a new CBA looming who really knows what the landscape will be as far as FA's in the coming year, and the games that Denver and the Nets played with the crazy fake offer from the Nets gave NY all the incentive to lock up these two and roll rthe dice on assembling a team around them

Nuggets still have lots of talent with JR Smith, Lawson, Affalo and Nene. Cleveland is D- league material. Now go slap yourself for making that post.

The trade is not good for Denver. Anytime you have to trade a player like Melo because he was unhappy, than it's bad. The only thing Denver did was limit the damage. They will never get back to the WCF with that squad. A lot of teams talk about rebuilding, but never do. In the NBA, you rebuild by blockbusters trades that hopefully bring in a superstar, or high draft picks and getting a franchise player like Anthony was. Both are long shots in the foreseeable future. Top tier players don't come around often, and I especially don't know of one that wants to play in Denver..
