Also took Heat +2 last night.

If LeBron and his boys don't deliver here as a harbinger for the rest of the year and this coming postseason, they're simply pretenders. This is a statement game for Miami -- ditto for the Lakers.

I opted for LAL -2.5 (x4) and got the Heat ML at (+110) (x8) yesterday. I'm also about 80% sure that GSW -6.5 is a winner as well. This could be quite a night...

Hope you're right -- usually when I anticipate big nights, they never develop that way.

heat are the right side. good luck.

you don't call out a contender as a pretender in february if they lose to a divison rival. this is not a statement game or even a big game for either team. they see each other again before the season ends. the heat see boston another two times. they play the spurs. they play the lakers again....there are way bigger games coming up for the heat.

    no love for d wade?

    Buying low.

These are "statement" games for both the Heat and Lakers. They have more to prove at this point in time and on this given night than the Magic and Spurs IMHO.

Greek finally moved Miami to +1 and -102 on the ML. That's a good sign as long as it stays there.

I'm starting to think the 1H over and game over might be the best plays.

Who knows T wizzle. Since your friends gave the "report post" button a rest.

Not statement games for either team.

Statement game is the Heat winning in Boston. That's a statement game. If the Lakers lose this game does that make them pretenders? lol

So LeBron's little feud with the Magic doesn't mean anything tonight? As far as regular season games go, this is a big one for him and Miami.

Lakers were called out by Magic for not beating any of the elite teams, and he's right. You don't think they want to make a statement tonight against the best of the best so far?

Of the two games, that would surprise me less.

Still, I'm confident in both and am rolling with it.

i think miami wants to make a statement against every elite team NC. I'm just saying that if you want to look at it this way there is a lot of "statement" games throughout the season. I think the Boston and LA games coming up are more important games for the heat, especially Boston- where I believe we all will see what this dynamic trio is truly capable of coming towards the end stretch of the season

spurs is a another test with the quickest pg in the league in parker that can run circles around any player on the heat. they've somewhat struggled with dynamic pg thus far lets see how they adjust to these games.

anyway we are on the same side tonight with the heat, lets get it.
not sure about the lakers. kobe can't do everything by himself

I'm not sure he can anymore. The guy's what, 33-34 years old? At some point, the wear and tear of carrying a franchise on his shoulders will catch up to him. I just don't think the Lakers are in the same class as they were even last year anymore. Father Time is calling.

intersting. I agree. The Lakers were lucky to win a ring last year. Of course they deserved it. The Lakers dynasty is coming to an end. They are going to slowly regress until Kobe and Phil retire- they have no up-and-coming superstar to take over in the future. Kobe is imo still the best player in the world. He's putting up what like 25, 5 and 5 in only 33 minutes per game? I think the Lakers need to bounce artest and bring in a pure shooter at the 3. I can't tell you how many times I've seen Kobe give Ron a perfect spot up 3 in the corner and he doesn't even come close. Those shots are not just 3s they are momentum shifts in games.

I don't think Kobe will continue to lose year after year and keep playing in the league. He probably wants to retire at a point where he is still putting up more than 22 ppg or so. If Lebron and Wade win the next two or three consecutive rings like I predict they will unless teams start making some drastic moves, I don't think Kobe is going to want to stick around for much longer unless they get him some real talent (i.e. daren williams, chris paul, etc)

Took LAL and GSW moneyline parlay. Only worried about LAL winning.

    I also took Miami +2.

Anyone on under 98.5? I just took it and wondered what you guys thought. Orlando's going to pump up their defense, however at the same time, they are undermanned and in foul trouble. Also, the Heat have been waiting until the final seconds to score.
