Now we have to deside when is the "true line" Rich usually send his plays out around 3pmest. So my guess is right around that time is when we should post the available plays. What do you think?

Here is an excerpt from an email from Rich about the "True Line". I take from this that sometime in the early to mid part of the afternoon is what he considers to be the true line. He sends his Original spread system and Updated spread system out at 3 pm Eastern. So I vote for that as a benchmark, give or take an hour.....

"People ask me all the time: What do I consider the 'real' number on a particular game? Is it the opening line? The closing line? Well my answer to them is ... neither.

I worked at an offshore sportsbook for 8 years and sometimes that opener can be a 'false' opener. What I mean by that is, the sportsbook releases a number, the sharp players bang it up and when the dust settles that's your REAL number. If you're talking about football, this is the number the game stays on most of the week (barring an injury or suspension etc.).

In the case of basketball it's the number the game is on during the middle part of the day/early night after the dust has settled.
I also tend to disregard the last hour flurry that happens as well. This is more driven by the public at large and believe me, it doesn't make sense to put much stock in what they think. We used to love having a game the general public loaded up on because more often than not, they were dead wrong."

Yea that should be good, he also stated in an email to me he uses 5dimes as one of his books. So, ill be using it as well.

This link provides a quick look at multiple prominent sportsbooks. I am not sure of the time delay associated with the updates but it updates automatically. Everyone has there own book and/or local but this provides a nice view across a larger sample size.

So neither of those games fit as you would be taking the under and buying a half point would only take you in the other direction to 213 and 183.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I see no mention of buying any points.

You could however buy a half point if the line was at 211.5 so you could take the under at 212.

OR, am I being a bonehead. Should you take the half point that is being given to you? And roll with Under 212.5 and Under 182.5?
