I've been betting for a month and now am slighly below zero in terms BR growth. I have to start over again.
I started off 73-47 or 60.8%.
Since then, I've went 52-67 or 43.7%.
I was up 20 units
This reversal happened around the end of December and start of January. I did think to fade myself but instead kept stubbornly betting with my system in hopes that things would change. Nope.
The exact same thing happened to me last year with MLB. I got up 20 units in a little over a month hitting 60% and then things went upside down and I hit only around 40%.
If you can quantify your edge then you can just chalk it up to variance/binomial distribution which good gamblers/bad gamblers all go through. No winning gambler wins at a convenient rate long term. Say for example you hit 55% long term... it don't work like that week in week out. Some weeks will be awesome, others horrible. Also, your 43% plunge is nothing. i did much worse than that last season in a 112 game stretch and still hit 58% for the yr.
Bottomline, you need to know your edge and track your record long term to help understand/navigate the rough times. everything else is meaningless if you don't know your edge/record long term.
