In the last 25 plus years who other than maybe Jordan could've won with scrubs???? No one!!! So stop it with the Kobe could not have won it without Shaq or whomever. Duncan needed Robison, Parker, and Ginobili. Celtics needed those fools together. Miami had Shaq and Dwayne. That's just how it is. Kobe has been playing now 14 season and basically non-stop for like the last 3 years... Yeah Lebron fans, that's what happens when your team keeps playing for championships. It's obvious Kobe is beat up physically and can't do alot of what he used to, but don't be mistaken Kobe will ALWAYS be above Lebron, even if that fool won 4, 5 or even 6 rings ( which will never happen). Kobe is king

Fisher, Horry, and Shaq have way more clutch shots in the Finals than Kobe. Kobe is a 40% career shooter in the finals

There are very few finals game in the Lakers run where you can point to Kobe say "hey he pretty much won the game" for them. On the otherhand, there are plenty of games where you say he didn't really help his team from getting blown out or just couldn't get his team back in the game. Stop acting like he is in the same class as the all-time greats

This game isnt what was indicative of superiority, considering Phil made him play with 4 rec league players who for the most part didn't want to show up at staples today.

Every player that had momentum *cough Artest, Odom* was never allowed to establish rhythm, let alone ordered to by coaches.

Miami plays amazing defense ESPECIALLY across the court, long passes in a halfcourt set are an obvious nightmare.

The lack of passion on this team reminds me why I'd be shocked to see them wearing Laker jerseys, at home on Christmas against the team that everyone talked about while you were the reigning champions...

disgusted. Sloppiest passing in and out of the post by a laker team since they didnt make the playoffs..no joke.

They were able to score when (like JVG reiterated at one point) they dropped out of the triangle, and in essence had kobe and pau play pick and roll strong side with odom fisher and Artest (who as soon as I saw him get the first three in his face made, looked to be super inspired..him maybe moreso than Kobe...Kobe was continually frustrated, Artest seemed to be thriving at one point after responding with 5 points an offensive rebound and a charge taken in like 4 plays total)...and when they moved the ball to the open man (as with movement of screens there often is even without any double teams) they would find fisher for a wide open 3, or Brown, or looks for Blake..but no heart tonight..

Lebron plays with an intensity like Dwade, even moreso, that is visibly intense. He gets pumped up and loves moments like these games, and in his head makes them bigger than an average regular season game, and that rubbed off on everyone on his team...Kobe didnt maintain the presence of mind id expect to in once again getting T'd up, and allowing frustration to really affect his play, which rubs off on his entire team. Kobe is as intense if not moreso than Lebron, just not in a way thats conducive to channeling energy into ego-bouts for his team. Also, he really forced so many passes, some of the lobs were atrocious

Long run (to this point), yeah, James can't hold Bryant's cup yet. Kobe has found ways to win and almost always has raised his level when it counted the most (I know his % stinks in the finals, but he does other things). James did it in an amazing way to get the Cavs to the Finals, but that has not been the norm for him. You Laker/Kobe-philes can make a great case for Bryant, but some of your arguments make it sound like you have only been following the NBA for 18 months.

As far as THIS discussion goes, the above quote is the end all as far as I'm concerned. These Kobe and Laker lovers sure have massive holes in their memory banks, and I can't believe they are giving James grief for playing with 2 other good players when Kobe has always had MULTIPLE good players around him. Gasol is arguably the best PF in the league for goodness sake. Let's not pretend the Lakers are riding Bryant's back.

Lebron took a team of nobodies to the NBA Finals. Kobe took a team of nobodies to the lottery then tried to get out of LA until they stars were brought to him. And how about when injured? The Lakers are still a good team without Kobe; the Cavs couldn't beat a JV team without LeBron. Are you guys seriously trying to compare the two situations?

    Average price on a Laker/Heat ticket $675 = a minimum of $12,822,975 with the 18997 people???

    WTF.......... Check Lebron Birth Certificate

Cavs fan cosigning most of this. Kobe is great, but LeBron did it with an ensemble that was full of role-players.

Care to qualify this statement? The man plays the game the right way and displays an unselfishness and a commitment to his team that is greater than most stars we have seen in the past decade.

    WHAT?

Anyway, I hate LeBron but even I can admit that he did it all for the Cavs and is definitely the best player in the league right now. He has been for 2-3 years. Kobe does it all on reputation at this point. Could anyone honestly watch the two players, without any prior knowledge, and say Kobe is better? No ******* way.

i cant stand him either...hes a coward who was afraid to assume the responsibility of being "the man" the way jordan was.

too bad he isnt winning shit with this heat team. people overreact so much after 1 game its comical. the heat wont get past boston in a 7 game series nor the lakers for 7 games facing a front line of bynum, gasol, and odom.....big deal. they won a regular season game today. wow....

good post but there is really no comparison with lebron to kobe defensively. kobe is highly rated as one of the greatest perimeter defenders ever to play the game. wade, who is 5 inches shorter than lebron, has averaged more blocks per game than lebron for most years of their careers.

Lebron is a great TEAM defender. as an individual defender, he is still solid, but no where near as good as bryant career-wise.

    Three Kings,

The Heat are Wade's team and always will be. Wade will lead teh team in scoring after the season is over and its clear that he and Lebron are on the same level.

    Dexter,

yes solid points. Lebron is like Ben Wallace on the defensive end. Unreal help defense.
