    Denver -2.5

    Denver Nuggets
    35-28
    @
    New York Knicks
    17-44

    Denver leads there conference.
Knicks are laughing stock of NBA

Denver is almost .500 on road
Knicks haven't won more than 37%@home

    Denver still has a season
Knicks have been done for months.

Denver has won more than twice as many games
    as the Knicks.

Whats going on here? Why shouldn't I put
alot of units on Denver. And no B2B excuse
cause that doesn't affect my decision. Is this a trap?
Help please?? Denver looks like money.

Denver certainly seem to be playing good ball at the moment. I was sure they'd lose half the games they've played recently but surprisingly, nope. Here's hoping it continues tonight.

I knew that trade for Ruben Patterson was going to work out real well for the Nuggets. Reggie Evans is also helping out. A dangerous team.

just looked it says Camby and Anthony are both prob. This has to be why the line is 2 1/2 and not 5 or 6

I think it has more to do with MSG and a new sense of effort coming out of the Knicks. Keep in mind the Knicks are still a talented team. The probable status of ** and CA are probably worth a point as both of them are very probable.

Yep, the books are begging for money on Denver. I think the Knicks are going to win outright.

I actually like the Knicks moneyline. I know Knicks are pretty bad team, but they seem to have picked up their game winning 2 of last 3 on road. Denver off a tough loss at Boston yesterday where they kept it close and faltered in the end of 4th. Knicks well rested at home.

If you do decide to do this, I'd wait as long as possible, because the line will hit 3 or 3.5

Philosophically I like the Knicks lately because nobody else does, because people throw the word "terrible" around freely and are busy making Isiah jokes, and that can mean value. (I also like Portland lately for the same reasons.)

Having said that, a couple of caveats about tonight:

    1. Denver is another team that is better than people think, IMO. Seems the Patterson trade has given them a big boost, at least short-term. And they are coming off a game they should have won and would have won if not for a Paul Pierce superman job.

    2. I've been really bad at timing when to be on Denver and when against them. I was on them last night, as an example.

    3. The Marbury-Brown situation is incredibly toxic right now. I'm not sure that's a bad thing for the Knicks's chances to win, but it is a wild card.

    4. There may be some volatility in the line 30mins before post when the DEN probables are declared in or out.

Still, I found +133 ML on the Knicks was too much to pass up. So that is the initial position I took. I'm in with Juuso.

At some point I'd like to start a separate thread to delve into this notion that the BM is trying to trick us on a regular basis. Color me skeptical. If anybody on the board has actually worked in management at a book, I'd love to hear their thoughts.

    From my friend:

The Knicks are a vastly improved team since Marbury came back from injury. Francis is playing better since then as well. Coach Larry Brown had been "experimenting" with different line-ups while Marbury was out. Now that he has returned the team is more in sync.

NY has just returned home after spending 6 out of their last 7 games on the road where they covered thet spread in 3 out of their last 5. Denver is in the middle of a 7-game road trip. They are playing their 4th road game in 5 days and are facing 3 road games in 4 days

Even though the Knicks suck they are a "public" team...lots of greaseballs on the east coast going to bet on em just like they do the Yankees come hell or high water. No big shocker if Denver does loose given they are on the road and the road is always tough in the NBA. Denver might not focus on this one since it is the Knicks. My take on this one after all is said and done is that there must be better games to bet on than this pig.

My 2 cents... Denver's not only playing a B2B but they're playing a 4 in 5 rotation (4 games in 5 nights) all on the road. And if they're 4th quarter last night against Boston is any indication I'd say they'll have some tired legs in the 2nd half. I'm playing the Knicks tonight and looking at a possible 2nd half under play as well.

Maybe the game's already been played and we're all just being set-up.. LOL. The line's moving back to Den -3 -110 at pinny. I originally liked the Knicks alot but the thoughts on this thread are making me back off a bit. I'll wait til the last minute and take the Knicks for 1 unit probably at 3.5.

I am starting 2 believe what alamo said. I know the game isnt over but
Alamo said not to over handicap some games and if u see a spread that jumps
out just bet it. When I saw this spread it looked like a 5 unit.

IMGV and all, my 2 cents (as someone who took the losing side of this game):

if we change our opinion based on fears about line movement and what side the bookies "want" us to take, then I think we're open to second guessing ourselves for overthinking things and seeing ghosts in the closet

but if your opinion changes based on long and hard study of the merits of the game, I don't think you can second guess yourself for that. It's got to be the case that we will be better off in the long run doing exactly that, studying.

This game played out exactly like I thought it would. I wish you guys

one day it will be the other way around and I will then be glad I did.

When did Quentin Richardson become the NBA's worst value?

    VALUE = Performance/Salary
