    Suns/Rockets thoughts

Currently the game is pick'em at Pinnacle. I know Kurt Thomas is out, but I feel this line should be higher. I think this another trap game.

Talk about a battle between styles. PHX has been running HOU out of the building, but without a big man in the middle Yao should have a much easier night. The same Yao that spent large chunks of the games against PHX catching his breath on the bench.

I would like to see the total. I expect the Suns to speed up the game even more than usual, and if Yao drops in some easy buckets the score could run up pretty quick.

WTF? Phx just killed Hou. PK`em?? Must be a trap!! I have a good
    thought..

One of these will win one will lose-->

    Det-3/PHX PK

I have seen this where 2 games stick out like a
sore thumb and one wins and one loses..

    Thoughts on this?

Houston can't slow the game down enough for Yao to be a factor. imo

You got to think the Suns will try to make the tempo a fast one. With Kurt Thomas out, hell they do it either way.

Houston is really a bad team, and I dont think they can put the game on Yao's back each night. He did well today, so look for Yao to have a bad game tomorrow.

They way I look at it, even if it is 1 unit, Phoenix is the better team.

    Houston 8-2 L 10
    phoenix 9-1 l L 10

If I'm gonna get fvucked on this I'm getting fvcked with my money on the better team.

After watching the last meeting you either have to pick Phoenix, or stay far, far away.

If someone can give a good case for the Rockets please do. This line
is so wrong on paper to me it's sick.

The Rockets with both Ming and TMac have about the same winning % as Phoenix and they are at home, but I still like Phoenix though

I know but they had Yao and Tmac last time and SUNS
    still could of won
that game by 100+ points if they wanted too scoring at will.

I know but Cavs blew out the Pistons last time in Cleveland, Houston has been pretty impressive in every other recent game, I think they actually played the Suns very tough last year with Ming dominating Stoudemire, so we may be overreacting too much to one game

I LOVE PISTONS. I'll be square.. But Pistons only -3 against anyone
is cool, but vs yo-yo Cavs it's yummy.

PHX is my favorite NBA team to bet on, and I'm not getting back on them until I see how they adjust without Thomas. Maybe they had a bad night against CHA, but I was shocked at their lack of defense. CHA had 74 points at half time...

PHX was in the 60's, as usual, but the opponent normally is somewhere in the 40's at the break.

If this is the case and i am almost convinced it is,
DET will win and Phx will lose. Cause the public will be on Phx and maybe expect a cover by Cle.

I am thinking the same thing. It is definitely a trap game.

First of all Yao cannot play at a fast pace game the Suns offer. Look for the Rockets to somehow control the pace of the game and win going away. It would shock me if the Rockets won by 10 or more. The more I watch the NBA the more I think its fixed.

Did you see the foul Charlotte made with 8 secs left and down by 14. Hmm, the spread was 14.5 and Marion was just trying to kill the rest clock at halfcourt. It wasn't a ticky tack foul the guy actually hugged Marion to push the Suns over the spread. I actually thought Marion would miss both free throw in that situation. He missed the first, and drained the second.

If these two teams are going to play again tonight, Bigjeza needs to come out of seclusion . . .

    ========
I think Ming fogot his earmuffs tonight. "You see my baseball"

All the suns have to do now is not touch his ears, and they should get the win tonight. GLTA.
    =======

I've felt HOU is slightly overvalued for a while now -- just can't seem to find the right spot to move in with any strength. This does not strike me as the spot.

    Steve Nash is questionable.

Hard game, but i have a feeling the Rockets will win this one.

This is also very important game for Houston. They are sitting 3.5 games behind the Lakers for last playoff spot in the Western conference standings. I'm sure they will give their best game tonight.

Passing on this one myself probably, but if i had to take a side i would play the Rockets.

Hmm, Nash's status is not listed in covers or don best injury page, but here: http://sports.sun-sentinel.com/defau...ury/injury.htm

"PHOENIX SUNS - *Forward James Jones (wrist) and guard Steve Nash (knee) are questionable for Monday's game against Houston. Forwards Amare Stoudemire (knee), Kurt Thomas (foot) and Brian Grant (knee) are sidelined indefinitely."

    Don't know what to think...

That would explain the low line. Line is currently Suns -1.5

Now that I think of it I want no part of this.
    Any opinions??

Ah the beauty of the Pinnacle drop-down -- if you want to bail out and the line has moved in your favor, you either can shoot for a middle or you can buy the other side of the same line for guaranteed reverse juice.

If I could watch the game (I can't), I'd be tempted to hold off until halftime. Sort of expect an extreme result in the first half, which might create some interesting 2H options.

LOVE the Rockets here. Still played them small, but expect a 5-10 point victory.

I think this is sound advice.

I watched the full Houston/Orlando game and it wasn't nearly as close as its end result. Houston is definitely playing better basketball and Tmac is coming out of his personal issue slump. Pairing that with the absense of Kurt Thomas who is more valuable to Phoenix than the media understands, I would suggest a small play or no play.

I pussied out of my Suns pickem ....and went with Houston +2..

I had to munch a little juice, but when I heard that Nash may not play and the strange line I had to.

I got a snowballs chance in hell for a middle if Houston loses by 1....or a win and a push if Phoenix wins by 2.

Yao didnt have the bad game like I thought, but the Rockets did lose the game. It looks as if McGrady had the bad game shooting 6-18 from the field.

It looked like a trap, but Houston looked weak again. Great job Suns backers.
