Bulls team total over 24.5 (1st Q)
The bulls are playing at Orlando. This game does not matter to either team and playing defense will not be a priority. I rather take the over on the underdog because its 2.5 points less than the favorite. I would rather take the over on the bulls at 24.5 than take the over on the Magic at 27. The Magic does not play very good defense and especially in the first quarter of games. The last time the bulls played at Orlando was in January. The Magic won the game 102-88. The Bulls were able to score 27 points in the first quarter. In the very first meeting at Chicago, the Magic defeated the Bulls 112-110. In that game, the Bulls scored 30 points in the first quarter.

Hornets team total Under 27.5 (1stQ)
The hornets played last night at Utah and might be a little fatigued. The Twolves played at Charlotte and lost 121-119. Both teams will slow down the tempo and play some defense. Both teams may be a little tired to play an uptempo game. THe TWolves are a young team and they will continue to play hard.

Spurs team total Under 26.5 (1stQ)
The Spurs have played the suns 3 times this season and have scored more than 26 points in only 3 of the 12 quarters. Both the Suns and the Spurs are fighting for home court advantage. This game still does matter for both the suns and the Spurs. The way the spurs play, I would bet Under 26 for all 4 quarters. The Spurs are not a good offensive team in the first quarter of games. The Spurs do struggle in the first quarters of games. The Spurs only scored 5 points in the first quarter against the Hawks.

76ers Over 24 *1st Q
Dont look for the Pistons to play defense until game 1 of the playoffs. 24 points is going to be easy for a team that likes to run like the 76ers. The 76ers are coming off a home defeat to the Hawks. The 76ers only scored 16 1st quarter points in that game. The 76ers will be motivated to play this game while the pistons are not concerned.

Nets 0ver 22.5 1stQ
The nets are still in the playoff hunt but barely. I do not expect the CAVS to play great defense. The CAVS should be resting James, he has back spasms. The last time the nets played the Cavs, they scored over 35 points in the 1st Q. This is the smallest total of all the NBA games today.

Rockets Under 27.5
The Rockets will start resting the starters. This is too many points for a defensive minded team. Seattle does play good defense against teams like the rockets and the spurs, teams that do not play the uptempo game. The sonics play poor defense against teams that are uptempo like the Nuggets and the Warriors.

1st Quarter over/unders for Thursday (I was 4-2 on Wednesday).

Jazz team total over 24.5

This game is going over the total of 199.5. THe Dallas mavericks do not play good eneogh defense to slow down the Jazz. Deron WIlliams had 17 points and 20 assists against Dallas on March 4 as the Jazz won 116-110. The Jazz has played the mavericks 3 times this season and the Jazz has scored 27 or more points in 9 of the 12 quarters. I also like the team total over 49.5 (half) and team total over 99 for the game.

Forgot about that pick. I am better off picking overs when the team total is around 24 points (its worth taking overs for any team total 24 points and under in the first quarter). Being that high at 28 points, I should have taken the under. I learned my lesson not to take overs of team totals at 28 points and above.

1st quarter plays for friday (4/11)

76ers team total under 29
The pacer are still in the playoff hunt while the 76ers are already in. I see the pacers playing better defense in this game and for a reason. The pacers lose, they are out of the playoffs. The pacers will be lot more active on defense than the pistons were against the 76ers.

Bucks team total over 23
The Celtics regular season might as well be over. This is the one of their most meaningless games and we will see the celtics play their bench. The Celtics will play some very loose defense in a game that has no playoff implications.

Wizzards team total over 23
The pistons do not have to play defense until the playoffs start.

Suns team total over 26
Meaningless game for the rockets as they rest starters. The Rockets will play better defense when it matters in the playoffs. The Suns are only 1/2 game behind the lakers and this game does matter for them.

lakers team total under 27
The lakers have not looked good on offense in the last few games. They have come out a little flat in the first quarter like they did tonite against the clippers. The Hornets do have an advantage: extra day's rest. Hornets are fighting for the best record in the Western Conference and they do play better defense than the lakers do.

Spurs team total under 26.5
The Spurs have 1st quarter difficulties going over their team total. In 2009, I will bet the spurs team total under in every game that they are favorites. The Spurs slow down the game so much that it affects their offense at the same time.

The 76ers played last night and were part of definite under against the pacers. 76ers will not that good of defense tonite against the wizards. The wizards should easily cover the team total here.

Hawks team total over 24.5
One more meaningless game for the celtics. They are going to give in and let Atlanta win. The celtics will really use the bench tonite.

Blazers team total over 23
The Mavs are already in the playoffs. I do not think the Mavs bring the same defense tenacity as they against the Jazz on Thursday. The Blazers still like to win their last 2 games to finish over 500.

Kings over 25
The kings are rested and the hornets are going to be feeling a little faitigued as they played the lakers last night.
