Trends (O/U against winning teams, losing teams, good defensive teams, good offensive teams, etc), scores of recent meetings, ppg/points allowed per game, scoring and points allowed for the last 5 or 10 games....O/U can be tough because predicting the pace of the game is very hard to do. Those are the basics I use. Hope it helps and Welcome to SBR.

I have been betting the over unders on team totals per quarter and in a week built up account from $3000 to $8000. For example, I like the Boston Celtics O26 (1st quarter). In their last matchup with Miami, the Celtics scored 30 plus points in the first 3 quarters. And they did it without KG. This is really an easy task for the Celtics to score 27 plus points in the 1st quarter. I think betting on the team totals for quarter, half, 3rd quarter and game is much easier to predict. I think it is more risky when predicting over unders with both teams involved.

Is there a website out there that you can look stats like points per quarter up instead of having to look up box scores individually?

If you look into the box scores, you can look up any game for this season on yahoo sports and they will have each teams season scores and schedules. This can tell you how many points one particular team scored in each quarter of each game. It does not give you an average per quarter. I wish it was possible to get each team's average scoring in the 1st quarter. I like betting a team's over unders, proposition bet, in the first quarter of NBA games. I hit a 4 teamer, 6 teamer and a 9 teamer on friday to win over $8000. I have missed only two over unders on team totals in the first quarter. YOu do not have to account for two teams to go over/under a certain total.

I think I will give those a shot as well once I get my 5Dimes account funded....just small money to try it out since I play a decent amount of totals as it is. Thanks for bringing it up as well Tab.

    Diogee,
Hey what do you think of taking Texas O33 team total at the half tommorrow. If we take a look at their season, they probably average about 37 points in the first half. Texas scored 38 and 46 points respetively in the first half of two conference games against Kansas. Texas also scored 37 points in the first half against UCLA, which is very difficult to do. UCLA and Kansas are much better defensively than Memphis. LEt me know what you think of this play. Good luck betting on quarter and halftime team totals.

I honestly stopped capping the NCAA about a week into March. Looking at the number it looks like a decent bet. The only worry that I would have is that Memphis has allowed 28.4 point per game
in the first half. I am sure that many of those games were against sub-par teams and I would definitely expect this to be a high scoring game.
