Chalmers and Beasley are the only players under contract
which means they have absolutely no bench...and have to sign 6 players to fill the team out and will only have 2.9 million to do so. they will likely have to trade beasley for multipe scrubs, or 2nd rounders to give them more cap space to sign the 6 other players
Well the silver lining for them is that all 3 are use to playing with scrubs ... But seriously, they should be able to get some good pick ups. Not to mention that they can go over the salary cap to sign players for the min..
The Heat have reportedly offered Mike Miller a five-year deal worth between $27 and $30 million, with a deadline of Thursday night to accept the deal.
It's interesting that the Heat are making offers with LeBron still seemingly up in the air, but getting Miller would immediately add a strong fourth piece if the Heat end up with LeBron, Wade and Bosh. It's also worth noting that we reported on July 1 that LeBron wants to play with Miller, and that Jeff Goodman is saying that the Heat have told Miller they're "confident" LeBron is coming.
They can go over the cap, but they have to stay under the MLE to sign players once over the cap. So basically players will have to take pay cuts to go there and I think but I'm not sure, they can't sign guys for more then 1 or 2 years. Alot of players right now are looking for multi year deals 3 or 4 years with the lockout coming next year. And I think most of the NBA is feeling the same way most of the fans do about this move. Its a bitch move.
lol Miami is gonna suck when these guys careers are over I can tell you that much. Trying to win a ring with no bench is not smart. Not sure what these guys were thinking. Go to the Bulls and you win a ring this year. Simple as that.
Yeah the bulls with bron was a scary thought. Someone else said it best, Lebron is not a leader, he doesn't want to lead, he wants to follow. He has amazing skills, and can average a triple double every game, but not have any pressure on him, let Dwade do the leader stuff, and thats why he went to Miami. Also I think Riley might have given him a BJ.
But what Miami doesn't have is a good inside presence, and no bench. Bosh is good sure, but hes got about 40 good minutes every game and he has never been past the first round in the playoffs. And if you think those rookies Miami has, even if they turn out to be decent are up to a 100+ game season playing 30+ minutes, your sorely mistaken. Bosh is kind of in the same category as the rookies, is he up to playing that much Bball? Its easy to say, but much harder to actually do it.
My prediction is Miami will win alot of regular season games, and get ousted in the eastern conference finals by the celtics when they run out of gas.
