What is the NBA HOME Line?

    NFL is -3

What is the NBA's version of a home line?

My first guess is 5. You see it a fair amount of times, when two evenly matched teams meet up.

    Thanks in advanced

I thoroughly dislike NFL. Never have made money in the long run.

    In most cases its 4

if a team is fav by 8 at home they are a pick on the road

except when the lines are high and they have played each other before then its 6

for example if cleve is a 13 point fav at home then they are a 7 point fav on the road

I've always thought it was 3. I definitely do not think it is anything higher than 4.

But don't certain home arenas offer even more advantage than others? e.g. Delta center Utah

This season, the home team has averaged 101 pts, and the road team has averaged 98 points, so 3 sounds right to me.

Should some of the number have a +, or -?

I amended it. The columns now show scoring differential for home and away this season, as well as the difference between the two, so for example, Charlotte outscores opponents by an average of 7.1 at home, gets outscored by 4.5 on the road, for a total difference of 11.6 points per game.

    For tonight's games:

    POR (2.3) @ DEN (9.1) = 6.8 = DEN -7
    ORL (2.5) @ DAL (2.2) = 0.3 = ORL pk

I don't cap games this way, but it's a quick and dirty approximation.

    And thanks for the points.
