Denver Nuggets legit contenders for NBA title.

Impressive home win against the supposed beasts of the east Toronto Raptors with a lock down, close out fourth quarter.

They're 10 and 2 in their last 12. that includes two wins over the Raptors, and two wins over OKC.
Overall 20 and 9, best in the west, and they're doing it with two talented guards on the bench injured, Nick Young and Will Barton.

I like the way the roster is constructed.
Jokic is an elite top five center,
When healthy they have a nice guard rotation with Young, Barton, Murray, and Morris.
Milsap is a top ten PF.

Nuggets only give up 103 points a game, top five in the NBA.

Most importantly they play as a team with no apparent internal strife.

They have more guys injured than that Gary Harris and Isaiah Thomas, they maybe should make a trade small guy to get a backup forward.

    Yes
    Yes
    Hell no

Both Trey lyles and juancho hernangomez are better fits at the four spot for how they play.

Mike Malone seems to agree as well with minutes distributed even before Millsap injury. Millsap was on the actively on the trading block before the season even began

Barton hasn't played much at all this year and you're forgetting Gary Harris in that backcourt who's better than everyone listed save Murray

Their home advantage is ridiculous because of the altitude, they are nothing special on the road and Milsap and harris are always hurt.

Their year is 2019-2020. Michael Porter Jr is taking his redshirt this year.

That is true. I watched the two Mexico games and these players were gasping for air after 5 minutes. Mexico City has 3 times the altitude of Denver.

    No no no

    I bet this game

Over went from 217 to 209 w Lowry out

Tor had complete control of game for 3 qtrs witout their leader

Den had nice 4th qtr but really both teams looked bad, nothing impressive here from either squad. Id put Den as 7 or 8 seed. Still about equal to Wolves, Lakers or Jazz, no way contenders yet.

Denver is scary, they are a contender for sure don’t forget they have Isaiah Thomas too, he is a real scoring threat if he stays healthy

Denver is the best team in the division if healthy, but this team is never healthy, Milsap and Harris are both hurt and they both missed significant time last year.

In the west any team other than phx is capable of beating Den in a series

Only GSW and, god help me, the Lakers, are locks to reach rd 2 imho (unless they meet)

The title ? shit no Nash. Tonight too on road w/o Lowry or Pacal. Raps were ahead for a while to start

out game. Denver def great defense thus far. New it would be a low scoring game and it was. Should have

    trusted my instincts

Denver also beat Toronto IN Toronto on Decemver 3rd and Toronto was healthy 106-103 but I still believe Toronto wins the championship this year.

I would like that but not sure on that on either. Champs ... if KD hasn't ****** them up for the year ( because of the fact he won't commit to team and must have reservations ...meaning he MUST be going somewhere ) still have to be de throned and that won't be ez

You telling me it changed, Nasher saying a team I can name exactly 1.5 players on is a legit contender? For a ring? Since when does a top 5 center and a bunch of guys win it all? I don’t believe it, these cute teams being talked about in December are usually swept in 1st round. Last week the clippers were allegedly a good team, maybe they can play for western conf championship while bron and curry watch!! Lol

THis was a good win by the Nuggets......but let's be real, the Raptors were on the final game of a grueling West Coast trip against some of the biggest powers the league has to offer. Not to mention last game of the trip at altitude. Finally, the Raps were severely short handed, dressing only 10. Heck Lorenzo Brown/Greg Monroe combined for 28 minutes, lol.

GOod win by the Nuggets, but let's not get too excited yet.

This was win they supposed to win, but nuggets had some very nice road wins..beat raps at toronto too among others.. They will be tough out in the west, even though like someone said, probably could lose any series in the playoffs.. But they will be tough team to beat this year in playoffs..

    No
    1) I'm not handing them a ring, I'm saying they are legit contenders.
    2) Besides GSW, who strikes fear into you in the west.
OKC has taken a step back, Portland is not deep once you get past Nurkic and Lilliard.
Lakers are a one trick pony with LBJ, Suns are D-Leaue trash, Memphis, Clips, Mavs, Utah all are ordinary with holes.
If Denver can lock up a 2 or even a 3 seed and get a few series at home in the playoffs, that would be huge.

I maintain GSW are still the ones to beat, however I stand by my statement Nuggets are legit contenders.

You're not going to win the playoffs without a superstar - there is 1 team in the last 40 years that won a title without a superstar, Detroit, and they were elite defensively. You need superstars in the playoffs to close games. Most of Denver's young players have never even playing in the playoffs.

    ^@Thormino
    Jokic is their superstar.
    He averages a double/double a game 18/10
Not to mention 7 1/2 assists per game and is can pick your pocket as well.
He's buried in Denver, if he's in a large market he gets major ink.

Jokic is a good player, he's a star, but he's not on the level of Durant or Harden - if he was Denver would have made the playoffs last year.

    They were 46-36 last season.
Last season the west was stacked.
This season most of the playoff teams from last year have taken a step back.

The West was far from stacked last year, Utah, Houston, and GS were great, but the 4 seed was Portland. If Jokic was a superstar he would have gotten them to at least the 8 seed.

I like this Denver team, but they're by no means a legit title contender.

They'll be lucky to be top four in the west.
