Where can I bet this. I want to bet the finals will be Lakers vs. Cavs and I want the book to pay me +250. I know that is reasonable as the Lakers are -120 to win West and the Cavs are -150 to win East. So we have a 55% chance with Lakers and we have a 60% chance with Cavs, so together going by those odds its a 33% chance which is + 300.
I will say that I believe there is a 95% chance it will be Lakers and Cavs. Yes, We will have a Kobe Shaq finals and that I am nearly sureof. I have already played these both on the conference lines and the Nba Championship lines, But I would love to get some +250 on Lakers/Cavs finals and that is very very +EV.
One thing about the NBA thats different than Football or even baseball is that the best team almost always wins the championship. Look at all the years that Jordans Bulls were best team, they always won, then the Spurs, then the Lakers. Look at the Celtics and Lakers dynasty's of the 70's and 80's. You cant have a real dynasty in NFL because all it takes is one loss and you're done.
Look at the year the Patriots were 18-0 going into the superbowl and lost. Anything can happen in the NFL, thats why we love it. I dont care how much better one team is, the other team can rise up and play a great game and win the superbowl. If the NFL playoffs was a best of 7, there is no way the Giants would beat the Patriots 4 out of 7. Im not saying one and done is bad I am just saying the NBA is way more preictable in the playoffs.
Now look at the Lakers, this team has proven that its good even without Kobe. But you know come playoff time Kobe is going to be ready. The Lakers are going to have home call advantage throughout the Western Conference playoffs. Yes, there is a lot of competition out West. The Nuggets, Spurs, maybe even Mavericks are good teams, but none of these teams stand a chance in hell to beat the Lakers in a best of 7. Not a chance, Not IMO anyway.
Now in the East, the Cavs will have home call advantange, you add Shaq this year and now antwan Jamison. THere isnt near the competition in the East. The Magic wont be able to do it this year and I dont think the Celtics can even make a series with the Cavs interesting. I could see Shaq and Lebron going 4-0 on the Celtics.
Either way, I just cant imagine how anyone knocks out the Cavs or Lakers and if some book would give me some + 250 to add to what bets I already have I would jump all over that. Come June we will see a Shaq vs. Kobe finals.
