I’m sure they will prob get somebody, if not this year they will surely add next. I just don’t think he made this move because of anything to do on the court and everything to do with wanting to be in LA.

With how quick it happened, I can't disagree with that. He definitely wanted to be there.

Everyone thinks it's a forgone conclusion kawhi goes to the lakers bc it fits a specific narrative

No way does pop or the San Antonio front office think that hakuna matata or whatever other garbage players the lakers have is worth a third of kawhi

The stats are meaningless bc the lakers played with a top 5 pace and was a terrible team which means trash players like ingram, range and akuzma matata will have heavily inflated stats

Typical 20 ppg players on 20 win teams. No way are they worth kawhi

I doubt that happens this go round. He brought those losers a championship they havnt had in any sport for how long?? They should be framing those Jersey and saying “thank you” as he sails off to a much better place.

    4th year player option.

He'll be there 3 years minimum.

I doubt he has 4 great years left personally.

Will be 34 December 30, plus all these extra games, no college years with the shorter season, olmypics etc.

I could see him starting to decline year 3

wont win without paul george. even if you get kawhi now you have to gut the team to do it.

I’m surprised he isn’t starting to decline already to be honest. Absolutely he will be by year 3 if not sooner.

I mean he's worth it but teams have some leverage bc of the widely known situation of unrest with the spurs and kawhi. I think the franchise can thank popovich for that

Sixers should jump on that, they will be contenders for the next several yrs so their 1st round will be late. The odds of a first round let alone top 5 pick becoming a player like kawhi are slim

Man , people keep doubting the guy . He's actually gotten better as an all around player the older he has got .
He will still be better than 99.9% in the NBA in 3 or 4 years . That's what taking care of your body will get you , he doesn't spend a Million+ for nothing .
The Lakers still suck ass with or without him . Lakers want it simply for media attention , they're absolute garbage .
LeBron may actually want the same

Not doubting him it just the way it is. You can take care of yourself all you want it inevitable your body starts breaking down. Maybe if he was playing some easy thing like nfl qb id agree but the wear and tear on his body undeniable. Yes his all around game improved this year but he only has few of these where body still in top shape left. Talk to me in 3 years and if he still same I’ll be beyond impressed.

Jibbby we knew during that LBJ moving to GSW rumour, couple months ago.

It was either LA or NY. LBJ likes these cities...remember?

Lakers are 4 in the West right now. James is the ultimate game changer. Surprised no one here knows that.

Now they get kawhi and keep Ingram they are 2 years away from going to the finals.

Father time is undefeated. People said the same shit about Kobe. Play to 40 blah blah blah. This will probably end the same way as Kobe. Him playing some bull shit finale mid April 2022 then he retires.

It's why they decided to legalize gambling. Keep some sort of fan interest since most teams in small markets have zero chance of winning
