    Parlay advice

I have a $5 five-teamer to win $70 (three lines and two ML) riding on Portland at -1.

I know it's not much $$$, but how much should I buy back on the Jazz to assure a nice profit?

    Thanks.

In this situation I usually bet half my possible winnings. Example ur 70 dollars, take half of it, 35, and add ur original bet of 5. So put down 40 bucks on the jazz and know that unless the rose garden burns down, ur assured 40 bucks, and possibly 70. BOL

I was thinking in the same general vicinity -- at least $30 or so (especially considering I thought PORT was the weakest link of the play at the start of the day).

as long as you hedge with something, you've made the right decision.

    congratulations on your win.

    Thanks, fellas.

I put $33 on the Jazz at +1.5. So if Portland wins by 1 or more, I get $38 ($68 minus the Utah bet). If Utah wins, I get $30. Not bad off of $5. If I had more confidence in Portland, I would've gone less with Utah. I don't, so I pretty much split the difference.

    Appreciate the advice.

Well, I lost $10 out of the equation, but it was better than getting nothing out of that parlay.

Was hoping POR would pull it out and win by 1 so I could have double-dipped (won Utah at +1.5 and pushed with POR at -1 in the parlay), but I knew that was a long shot.

    Holy choke job.
