    He doesn`t have to go all out in regular season.
    He doesn`t care if he is 2,3,4 seed in the East.

    James opposed to this because he would have a much harder time it'd be best for fans though. I was just talking to someone about this in college football not overall seeding but doing away with divisions in conferences. Two top teams with best record play one another. That way we would see the best against the best. I think they split them up , east and west to keep overall ratings higher in NBA, it makes sense to keep it that way, but for fans you dont get to see the best play the best that way, but everything is about money. Id be surprised if Silver would go the alternate route but its the best route. If you got say two cali teams playing in the Finals as well as playoff teams not spread out then overall ratings would drop countrywide no doubt and vice versa.

    Would be nice for us and if anyone would do it even if he tried it for a year or two just to see if they didnt lose too much money then Silver would probably be the guy. He's way better than Stern was with implementing good change as far as I can see it. But with sponsors and all just dont see how they wouldnt lose money but maybe they wouldnt, maybe the fans would react to seeing the best 16 teams, playoffs would be much more competitive, we wouldnt see as many 4-0 1st rounds.
