Will Steve Kerr go down as the best coach in NBA History?

Steve Kerr has been in the league for 3 years, and he's been to 3 straight finals and won 2 of them. The way this guy has single handedly changed the league is crazy. His knowledge is unparalleled. His schemes are revolutionary. And the way he is able to adapt, and formulate a specific, historic-type of style for this specific set of guys is nothing short of amazing. At this rate, I see him moving past Pop and Phil in the far future.

Well this was a perfect example of buying a title they would've gotten swept without Durant

Buying a title only happens though in the NBA

Everywhere once in a while baseball but that was in the past

Did you hear his pre game speech before game 4? Had to be the worst speech I've ever heard. No wonder they got pounded in game 4.

Anybody can look good coaching that team.

He's a Larry Bird type of coach... you set him up with a great team and the v.best assistants and let him handle the stuff he does best, the players and the media, and in that respect he's phenomenal.

Mark Jackson could have won with this team, which is why you can see the jealousy in his eyes every time he has to call a Warriors game.

ABC showed both kerr and lue postseason records and they were both ridiculous. Players play the game, kerr may be good but lue is most definitely not

Mark Jackson was an anti coach, that toolbag got in the way of a gsw team that should've shocked the world and beat lob city in the opening round

Best coaches are the ones that get the most out of their team like spoelstra this yr or pops every yr

Steve Kerr has health issues... Phil Jackson is the best ever and its not even close! I could coach golden state and they could win the title.

Posters here either have selective memory or can't remember anything past 3 years ago.

Jackson was their coach and couldn't even reach the Western Finals; Kerr immediately takes the same core group and wins the title.

There's a reason he didnt take the Knicks job initially. Just not sure how he'd do or if would have enough patience with a much worse team.

Arnold "Red" Auerbach. Look it up.
Soooo far ahead of his time.
Also has to be considered a top GM/ team builder.

    Here are a few gems:
Parish & McHale for JB Carrol
    Gerold Henderson for Len Bias
Danny Ainge, in a late round that doesn`t exist anymore
Drafts Bird as a junior eligible
Dennis Johnson for Rick fuggin` Robey, AFTER DJ won a finals MVP: (RIP)
Fugghetabout all the shit he pulled off in the 60s as a one man HC/GM/President.

Steve Kerr. What you talkin` bout Willis???

    Yes

We hold it against players and coaches when they don't win chips, we hold it against Lebrun when doesn't win as many as MJ, we hold it against Stockton and Malone, etc...

Can't have your cake and eat it too, either championships equal greatness or everyone has to quit using that logic and holding others to it

Laker -- GS entire offense runs like a machine off Steve Kerr's schemes... Brown did nothing. Maintained the machine that Kerr built.

We are talking coaching here and I'm not saying Kerr is in that discussion right now -- I'm saying he's trending that way and let's face it... Steve Kerr is a smarter guy than most of these other coaches in the NBA, if not all of them.

    Steve Kerr's X's and O's are crazy.

I understand the game of basketball so I know exactly what he's running and I've never seen anything like it and have watched every era.

This hasn't been done. Yeah he's got the best team ever assembled, but I honestly believe Kerr could draw up plays and schemes for any team/roster. That's how good he is.
