    Rockets fell into the typical trap. Opposing teams star player is out, and they came out underestimating their opponent. Which I understand in the regular season, but when it's win or go home in the playoffs, you can't put yourselves in a "letdown" spot. This just shows why the Rockets are the Rockets.

    Spurs can fill in for a missing star better than anyone in the league.

    Harden has these games where he looks like the worst player in the league. Reminiscent of that game 5 when the Warriors closed them out in the WCF a couple years ago.

    I was thinking the same thing. Usually a home team has two or three good runs in them. Houston had zero runs. I don't think they ever were able to go on anything more than a 5-0 run. When your best player doesn't play defense or hustle, it's hard to go on runs. Only guy on the Rockets team with any grit is Beverly.

    Pop was not forced into a single run-stopping timeout until they went on a humongous 6-0 run to cut it from 28 to 22. That is truly incredible.

    It's funny because the lines in these game 6's with the home team facing elimination down 3-2 are often super inflated to favour the home team forcing game 7 and yet the road team wins SU at a non-negligible rate.

    Would love to know over the last 7 years I've followed this sport what the record of teams up 3-2 on the road, at least +200 on the ML is.

    When I start pushing a wager like Goat did here in this thread, I find that I always lose. Now I have become better at recognizing the sins and can usually minimize the damage. Sometimes when we reason a certain way....it's almost like we are trying to convince not just everyone, but even ourselves

    When I read this thread, I was 99% sure it was going down in flames. Of course, I was also on the Spurs already, so there was some bias involved.

    Just placed this wager.

    Rockets are the better team and it'll show over the course of a 7 game series. It doesn't matter to me if Leonard is 100% or 80%. Rockets are getting every look they want and can easily get hot for 2 games and the Spurs will stand no chance. The Spurs are not the same well oiled machine of the past. Losing Parker will hurt in these critical games and Ginobli is not a consistent role player at this stage in his career. A guy like Lou Williams is much better. I don't think the Spurs have any answer for the Rockets except hoping they miss 3s. I don't like this formula and don't think it'll work. And I don't think Gasol works in there either because him and Aldridge are two horrific defenders.

    Beverly will need to step up defensively but I simply don't see the Spurs being able to win this series at this point. Danny Green is a defensive guy. He can't shoot but seems to think he can. He makes some timely shots but get in his face and he can't rise up over anyone. Same with Patty Mills and manu. That leaves the Spurs with basically no 3 point shooting under tight defense save for Leonard.

    I think the rockets have the ability to play good perimeter defense especially with the likes of Beverly Eric Gordon and Trevor Ariza who are all elite perimeter defenders and just as good as the Spurs perimeter defenders.
