NBA owners should be ashamed of themselves

They allowed these retarded dimwits to negotiate a deal that allowed the players to ruin this league. Games are all garbage. Two teams controlling the whole playoff picture.

It kind of feels like Golden State and Cleveland are playing each other right now.

It's like they're trying to show up in the finals each 12-0.

It all started with the power shift jordan brought to the players union at the height of his empire back in the 90s. Ewing and them boys capitalized on it as the union rep and rly leveraged the hell outta the owners.

Stern compounded it in the early 2000s when he manufactured multiple jordan replacement candidates in the form of iverson, kobe, vince carter and Tracy mcgrady to further boost sales and popularity which ultimately continued player brand name power and resulted in more negotiating power for the players union in further cba talks

This type of stuff wont always happen.

GSW just got lucky that the perfect player became a free agent the same time the new tv deal kicked in and they had extra cap space.

and lucky curry had ankle injuries so is still on a bargain contract. they cant keep all 4 much longer most likely.

I'm to the point that I can't watch the NBA anymore. I've decided to stop betting it and watching it. The product, in my opinion, is unwatchable.

Do people still watch the entire playoffs? For the last few years the only rounds worth watching is the conference finals and the finals.

The league used to be a lot better before the salary cap was turned into a joke.
What's the point in a "soft" salary cap ?

Can you make sense of THIS :

    http://www.spotrac.com/nba/cap/

Cavs are 32.44 million over the cap.
they spent about 47 million more than the Jazz this season

If the CBA would just dump the "max salary" concept and let teams pay higher than that, then you wouldn't have the top 3 guys all getting the same amount, and all being on the same team.

You'd have various teams being able to pay $50 mils for a Durant, or $70 mils for Lebron, or $60 mils for a Curry, but they'd only be able to afford 1 of those guys, not be able to pay all of them on the same team. You wouldn't have all 3 of those guys making the same amount as Mike Conley and being able to team up on one team.

I will say that the super team concept is great for gamblers. Free money on MLs. Thank you very much.

Playoffs are garbage. No way should anyone sweep a team in the 2nd round. Absolute disgrace.

Owners don't care though... they are making money. If an owner sits and watches his team... it's just a show. They don't give a fuk.

Basketball in general is one of the most boring games on earth. I don't know how can anyone watch this shit.
Where is the anticipation and excitement of a goal being scored? You basically just sit and count baskets for a few hours. No body checks and a little slap on a wrist brings game to a halt.

Slam dunks are probably the only interesting thing about this game.

I guess I get amused by the rigging?

Hard to rig a hockey game though. Probably the most honest sport. Unless the ref gives a 5-3 power play for about 1:30+

Remember when the league nixed the NO Hornets from sending Paul to the Lakers? Kind of funny they let Durant end up with GS seeing as a principle behind not letting CP3 go to the Lakers was for competitive reasons

Interestingly, the Rockets were pretty big winners as they eventually acquired Harden with the same assets that were going to be used in the CP3 trade

The association vetoing that trade has strongly influenced the landscape of today's game

So true. The Lakers turned into shit. The clippers obviously became good but only the warriors win in the end.

NBA has always been dominated by only a few franchises. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_NBA_champions

But I agree with the players having way too much control now. The game is continuously turning worse and worse. They look for the easy way out. Flop instead of defense. Ring Chase. Chuck up 3's. Very little team play. But their ratings are still high and they are making money so they don't care.

It wasn't for competitive reasons, it was for value reasons. The league owned the Hornets and their first priority was to sell the team. Trading away cp3 for Odom left them with even less value. It was about money.

Is this the easiest time a team has ever had winning a championship in any sport?

    28-1 since March.

Won every playoff game by 15+.

What a joke this is. Titles mean something because they're hard to win. This wasn't difficult at all.
