Do you think the Warriors are point shavers?

I never bet them, but I ask in earnest because it's been crossing my mind since last year's NBA Finals. Everybody knows the story of how the public absolutely hammered GSW -110 to win the title entering the playoffs and the Green suspension happened, and then in the 4th quarter of Game 7, Curry looked like he was throwing the game with behind the back passes out of bounds, nowhere close to their intended targets, and then 3 pointers that barely hit the rim, so as to give them zero chance of going in.

You ask, "Why would they do that though?" and I'm honestly not sure. Maybe there's some under the table payments happening from the NBA or sharks that incentivize doing that over winning, and the $$ is so huge, and we don't know about it.

It just really seems suspicious. Like tonight that 8.5 point line against Boston immediately made me think that GS would hand it to them, and then in the 4th they just make like 15 turnovers in a row, when if you're just playing a pick-up game of basketball at your local rec, you make sure to never let another turnover happen if you make one in a 5 on 5, and these are NBA players.

Thoughts? I honestly think the Warriors, especially Curry, are crooked. <strike></strike>

that 4th quarter was fishy. There was a live bet for gsw with 5 mins +8 I was tempted to take them but thank God I didn't

Beyond fishy lol, and then they were playing volleyball on the defensive boards on that one possession as if to say that we're not grabbing a rebound until the Celtics score here. And that possession had a lot to do with the +8 in-game.

First game back from a road trip. Short handed. Playing a gritty Celtics team.

    Nothing "fishy" about it.

They saved like 3 posseions from going out of bounds too on that same play. I couldn't believe what I was watching. They literally showed no effort

Haha, dude, if the Warriors actually were involved in some kind of billion dollar game fixing scandal, this is the response that I'd expect from somebody closely involved/complicit in the scheme, maybe even the kingpin.

I know you're not, just found it comical that the mobster who threatens people to stay quiet would tell those involved that this is the story to spin lest they end up sleeping with the "fishes" (get the pun?).

As for your answer about Curry absolutely yes ans so is his buddy that is injured right now. Don't u remember when they played Cleveland in the first finals that superstar Deladova shut him down a few games LMFAO. This bum couldn't shut down me and my 2 inch vertical leap. Somehow the worst player in the league was shutting down the best player in the league. What does that tell ya?

Haha oh that's right. I forgot about that. Yep the Warriors definitely threw those games in the first GS-CLE series to prevent the 4-0 sweep if they played straight up to their capabilities. Dellavedova shutting down Curry. That was laughable.

Years ago, when players were making the same as the general public, fixing/throwing games were possible. But the only incentive to do that would be money, and these guys' paychecks negate that incentive. Kind of a ridiculous notion.

I think Golden State is a bunch of crybabies who have got their heads so blown up from the success of the past few years and as a result dont play as hard anymore because they just assume they are so much better than everyone else. As long as Durant comes back for the playoffs, they still win the title though. And god do i hate Draymond with a freakin passion.. in the latest news, he wants to be a billionaire by 40.. good luck with that

I'm not taking a stand either way on this issue here but let me get this straight.

According to you, the incentive to fix a game is money.

Then, when the players get paid huge contracts and big money, you rule them out of possibly fixing a game. Getting paid is an incentive, but getting paid negates that incentive.

There can be arguments for and against a fix, it can depend on how you look at it, but perhaps you should rethink the argument you make.

Especially in a game where, for the most part, players get work pay whether they win, lose, cover or not.

    Something to think about.

Parity does not equate to point shaving.

It is hard in professional sports to play at the absolutely highest level every game. You don't realize how much luck is involved either.

I do. I've been watching Dion Waiters bank in double-clutch three-pointers to bury my tickets for about a month straight now.

The refs are the ones to watch out for. They don't make as nearly as much and they can influence a game in more subtle ways, calling fouls tightly or letting the teams play, ticky tack fouls on big scorer early in a half so he has to sit, mostly affecting the totals.

Random coaches, players, owners, are all in on this fixing and it is all about filling those stadiums, getting TV ratings, and of course stacking up Vegas pockets. Why u think places are having a hard time legalizing sports wagering. Until the leagues get their massive cut there won't be any other places like Vegas unless it is foreign Robbie do u remember when Donaghy got pinched. The biggest crook of all David Stern got these nitwits into believing he was the only one. The same David Stern who got caught fixing the lottery for the Nicks to get Ewing which is still on you tube believe.
