Detroit Pistons vs. Toronto Raptors // Feb 12

    Tip-off

The Detroit Pistons (25-29) face an Eastern Conference foe tonight as they skip over the border to take on the Toronto Raptors (32-22). Both teams are currently in position to make the playoffs, but while the Pistons are fighting to make the playoffs, the Raptors are contending with the conference’s elite.

    Motors running

The Pistons can’t afford to struggle on the road as they have been for the first half of the season. With three teams within a game and a half behind them (Hornets, Heat, Bucks) and fighting for the final playoff spot, their road record of 9-18 has to be better. The Pistons are 5-5 in their last 10 games. The Pistons have lost their last three games on the road and are 1-6 in their last seven away from Detroit.

Detroit's success relies on their defence. They do not score many points per game—averaging 24th in the league with 101.5 PPG—but they do not give up many either. The Pistons are 5th in the league with an average of 101.9 points allowed per game.

    Jurassic Park

As a team, sometimes the NBA scheduling gods just happen to shine down on you. The Raptors have had the past three days off and haven’t had to travel in the meantime. At home, the Raptors are the exact opposite of the Pistons on the road, 18-9.

The rest couldn’t have come at a better time for the Raptors. In their last 10 games, they are 4-6 and have not been playing their best ball. The Raptors have lost nine of their last 13 games and have given up ground in the process. The Washington Wizards have powered their way through the conference during their current run and have surpassed the Raptors.

    The Final Breakdown

After having a few days to get they sh*t together, the Raptors are coming home and will be ready to keep the ball moving. Looking for somewhat of a blowout win tonight. Hopefully won't even be close from start to finish.

    Toronto Raptors -6 (-115) 1u
