DALLAS – 76ers small forward Robert Covington will miss Wednesday’s game against the Dallas Mavericks with a bruised right hand after jamming in Monday's matchup against Sacramento.

"As of right now, I can barely make a fist or what-not," said Covington, who who has Kinesio tape all over his right hand. "It’s a day-to-day thing and monitor it and do treatment and just see how it feels in the recovery process."

That doesn't sound like someone who will be able to play Thursday night when the Sixers face the Spurs in San Antonio. Sixers coach Brett Brown won't rule out Covington playing against the Spurs, and neither will the standout defender.

"It’s possible," Covington said. "It all depends on how I feel with treatment today and treatment tomorrow."
