Jan 20 - The Daily Breakdown

    YTD (2-0) +2u
    NHL (1-0)
    NBA (1-0)

Big start last night as we cleaned up with both the NY Islanders taking care of business at home and the Cleveland Cavaliers routing the Phoenix Suns. Hope to keep it going tonight!

Toronto Raptors vs. Charlotte Hornets // Jan 20

    Act I

The Toronto Raptors head to Charlotte to take on the Hornets in an Eastern Conference battle. The Raps (28-14) are chasing the Cavs for top spot in the East while the Hornets (21-21) are holding onto one of the last playoff spots in the conference.

    Jurassic Park

The Raptors have been good on the road—and in general—this season with a 13-8 record. The Raptors are the third highest scoring team in the league and average 111 points per game. They should have their way with the Hornets who have allowed 100 points or more in five out of their last six games.

The Raps have a little something extra to prove to themselves and their fans tonight. They inexplicably lost to the Sixers 94-89. The Raps are 6-4 in their last 10 games and need to improve if they are going to keep pace with the Cavs. A timely addition for the Raps is Jared Sullinger. The free agent signee was out for the first 41 games of the season but may be a big addition for the team down the stretch. The Raps have struggles ATS against the hornets in recent years, but it hasn't always been the strong playoff team that they have become.

    The Hive
The Hornets fell in the standings after a horrid five-game losing streak. They snapped the skid in their last game against the Trail Blazers with a blow out 107-85 win. Despite their .500 record, the Hornets are 13-8 at home. The Hornets have taken care of business against the Raps when they have been the favourite, posting a 6-2 record in the last 8 match-ups.
The offence revolves around Kemba Walker for the Hornets. He is putting up an all-star campaign and has averaged 23 points a game. When he goes, the team goes.

    The Final Breakdown
The Raptors will be on to bigger and better as the season enters the final half. The Raps will be looking to make a deep playoff run while the Hornets just need to get above .500 and make the playoffs. After an embarrassing loss, the Raptors will come out with something to prove.

Raptors laid an egg. Brutal loss there.

Thankfully won my NHL play with Chicago as a +150 dog! 1-1 +0.50u on the night!
