NBA is like the Spain Soccer League where only the top few teams have a chance now.

Most players will trade money for Championship for a year or three....

The rule needs to be salary cap and guidelines, the same as NFL..........

wow a few weeks ago the Ws were laughing stocks and losers here now you guys are demanding rule changes for the salary cap

not like they got these guys in sweetheart trades like the lakers (gasol) and celtics (garnett) did to win their titles

besides they rigged the finals without durant

this team wants payback they going to stick it to whoever they meet in playoffs

Popovich told Boban Marjanovic if he does not sign with pistons he is fukkin crazy...

Marjanovic wanted to stay with Spurs.
Popovich had to basically kick his ass out the door.

NBA Salary Cap 2016-17: 5 Fast Facts You Need to Know

    1. The NBA Salary Cap Is Projected to be $94 Million

    2. There Will Be a $24 Million Jump in the Salary Cap Thanks to the New TV DealThe 2016 NBA free agency period will be unlike any summer in the history of the league. The salary cap is slated to get a $24 million boost thanks to a new lucrative television contract.

There is no end in sight either. The 2017-18 cap is expected to jump up at least $13 million to $107-110 million. This might cause teams to be even less thrifty knowing that the cap is about to get another boost in a year.

    3. There Are 21 Teams Who Can Sign a Free Agent to a Max Contract

    4. Teams Cannot Sign Players Until July 6 2016

    5. The Luxury Tax Amount Is Projected at $111 Million

Each year, the NBA sets a luxury tax threshold in addition to the salary cap. It is the amount that teams must pay a tax on if they exceed the cap. According to CBS Sports, teams are charged $1.50 for every dollar they spend over the cap up to $5 million. The penalty rises after this threshold.

Teams can come close to this threshold in a few different ways. The most common way is to re-sign one of your own free agents using his Bird Rights. It allows a team to still sign the player to a contract even if they are over the cap. Another way a team goes over the cap is by signing players using their mid-level exception.

can you please explain how it is so easy to buy a championship again ?

cleveland has LBJ, arguably the best player in the last 20 years so they are out of the equation. The Ws are 8th in salary so you take them out too. so who bought or is buying a title ?

this post makes less sense the more i read it

Why was Golden State able to get Kevin Durant but the Lakers weren't able to get Chris Paul? I suppose it's the difference between two different commissioners.

GSW is spending 22 million less than Cleveland on salary this year..

So if they win the NBA championship.
GSW did not buy the championship with money.
GSW bought it with great negotiators...

like i said lebron has to play somewhere and wherever that is he will most likely be going to the finals and that team most likely would be paying out what cleveland is paying out, they are a toss for that reason

even if they were, that is just ONE team. nobody else on the list remotely qualifies, so why the need for changes to the salary cap, etc ? still dont get it we can agree to disagree on this one

This Pauly guy is on something. Makes a thread titled "Too easy to buy a Championship in the NBA" then asks someone, in the thread, when did they say the favorite to win the Championship, the team that won it 2 years ago and lost in Game 7 last year, is trying to buy a championship.

Then tries to turn the thread into a list of teams to fade ATS.

Scatterbrained and forgetful of their own posts' title. When you make posts like this it's hard to take any other posts by them seriously.

    Thumbs down.

This is a dumb post. Teams to stay away will be the teams to bet after all star break and vice versa. lines will catch up. almost all teams will close out near 50% After all start break fade the top 3 ats teams and follow the bottom 3 ats teams. easy money system every year.
