LeBron is Dr. J 2.0. He needs help. A Moses Malone type to get over the hump

Good enough to pull scrubs to unprecedented heights but not good enough to win it all with them. I've seen this movie before. Doc could take Darryl Dawkins, Caldwell JOnes, Bobby Jones, Mo Cheeks, Steve Mix, Andrew Toney, and Marc Ivaroni to the ECF or finals but couldn't beat those teams until Moses led the people to the promised land. What ringless superstar does LeBron need to finish the deal? Westbrook, Durant, Carmelo, Blake, CP3?

Love is. He would rather put up numbers on a bad team than play defense for a contender.

Irving looks like a kid that will score 24 a game and give up 27 on defense but thinks he played great.

Unfortunately for Lebron there is no Moses Malone in the NBA.

A floater will help on offense. He needs a teammate that dominates his opponent on both ends of the court.

That's what it's going to take. A dominant player to take all the pressure off and lead the way. Doc got out of Moses' way and let him lead and operate.

Would Lebrun be a starter in current Warriors or Thunder teams? I don't think so. He could be coming from the bench.

a thread like this is why nba is so watered down. lebum fanboys givin excuse after excuse. dr j had moses bec he never had help before. lechoke had more help than any! most big time players got help some by draft and some by trade/signings. lebum's help are all signings when there were great or move to play together with great players!
    just stop the nonsense.

Doc was just as good as Lebron in his day. Top 2 or 3 player annually, a MVP caliber player, unselfish, powerful and graceful. But could never get a high draft pick and was stuck with the roster he had which could make it to the ECF or finals every year. It took doc taking a co pilot role and deferring to the hungry superstar to make it work. And it did. A historically great team if ONLY for one year. Lebron just needs ONE more ring to validate his career as a top 3 player all time. But he can't get it with love and Kyrie as his henchmen. He needs a whole lot more. In fairness, if Lebron were more coachable it would be easier also. He is not blameless in this predicament. He has to step back and get out of upper and roster management. That is not his expertise.

He's way overrated...he doesn't have the ability to score 30 to 45 and won a game. Most excellent players had the ability to dominate and score when it was crucial. Kobe...jordan...so many. It could be 106 106 and he won't make the 3 pointer to take lead 109 to 106. Great athlete but not a finisher.

He already had the help but GM LBJ traded him for Love. The Cavs would be in entirely different spot if they had Wiggins on the wing.

Im in the group that thinks making it to the finals out of the east isnt much. Every year whoever makes it out of the East has their toughest games by far in the finals. In the west 4 teams have to battle in final-like series before the finals and then the actual finals arent their toughest series. Spurs, Thunder along with the Warriors would have all been favs right? Maybe the Clippers too?

Always wondered why it became championship or bust when LBJ came back to Cleveland. Wiggins could have been groomed to be a Scottie Pippen type to go along beside LeBron and Kyrie. Bad bad move to stick so much money into a player who already peaked and couldn't play defense or post up.

Kobe won against an elite Boston squad & his "big 3" was Pau Gasol & Lamar Odom. Lebron has no excuses. Should have won every single year he was in Miami.

Right? It's actually being talked about a lot as the Cavs seem like they are going to crumble. Love is not a guy you want to "play fast". He needs to go get in position or pop out on the play in the half court. Scottie is a good comparison. Not that Wiggins in Pippen but they were both 2-way players. They traded away that for what they thought would be 25 and 12 or 20 and 10 even. Now Wiggins scores 20 and Love gets 15.

He still needs help. Shouldn't have to lead all players in all major stats to win by 4 in 7 games on the road. You can't do that every year

Even Wilt Chamberlain couldn't win a championship by himself, and he was the most dominating player to play the game. He didn't get a ring until he went and played with other good players and stopped putting up 40+ points a game.

Agreed. Garnett and David Robinson did the same thing. They gave up being 25 ppg and double digit rebound stats to be defensive stoppers. Championships and finals runs soon followed. Gotta have help.
