San antonio spurs fading NBA championship

Looks like SA spurs are fading. I see them as unlikely to win NBA championship.

GSW are of course favorites, and they should be.

What outsiders do you guys see?

Spurs are 55-10? How are they fading? Its either going to be GSW or Spurs winning it all. Nobody in the East has a shot.

outsiders dont win nba championships. That doesnt happen in the nba. Mavs might be the only team since the 90s that i can say was a surprise champion

    Detroit?

I think an outside chance the Rockets could make a run.

if they beat Ws at home on 19th then it might be on come playoffs but im thinking OP on right road. i dont think pop is resting anyone that game + spurs have home streak going too and how many years is it since Ws won there ws 1997

going to be one of few entertaining regular season games this year imo

They are not winning convincingly anymore. They used to blow teams out by 20-30 points at home. Now its more like 5-10 points.

I have seen this many times before, teams that start regular season red hot but cant keep it up. Generally they have 0% chance to win championship.

Spurs will have a shot, having his team rested and healthy for the playoffs will be key. They won't show anything on the 19th, if knows a way to beat them we won't know till the playoffs come.

jj calm down and explain. Spurs win NBA champs? I think not.

GSW could be a huge bet for me.

Nah Detroit was very good and you could kind of see the lakers chemistry was imploding.
As for the rockets I would bet my life on it they'll never make a run with ball hog harden and idiot Howard. They played a clippers team last year that I also hold in that same regard so I don't give last years run that much credit

well from performance GSW or Spurs

but Play-off games are totally different from Regular Season !!

any team can do it in play-offs

Vegas will pay much if GSW did it !!

Pretty sure GSW is a huge bet for everyone. GSW isn't blowing teams out anymore either. They've won quite a few close ones lately.

GSW getting blown out by bad teams is somehow not raising any eyebrows, but Spurs winning "less convincingly" is a bad sign ? Jeez.

Hard to say they are fading only because their pt differential isnt as dominant as it was earlier on. Aldridge is playing better than he has all year so that transition seems to have finally been complete. Their defense hasnt been as good but anyone who expected them to keep holding opponents to 91 pts/gm in todays NBA is nuts. GSW are still the favorites by a long shot no doubt, but nothing is guaranteed in this league...not to mention they are also a team giving up tons of points.

They used to win by 20-30 at home. Now they win by 8 points.

    They are fading.

Percentage chance to win NBA Finals...

    (My opinion)

    45% Warriors
    35% Spurs
    15% Cavs
    3% OKC
    1% Clippers
    1% Outsider (Raptors, Heat, Rockets)

Warriors & Spurs truly are head & shoulders above the rest of the pack. Cavs have the talent, but they simply don't have the team chemistry & cohesion required to be a championship team. They may find it in the future (as happened at Miami), but they certainly don't posses it right now...

Just check Hollinger's power ranking, they are pretty objective and I think SAS and GSW are at about 40-45% to win the title each, with the Cavs as distant third.

Doesnt make sense. Cleveland likely to win eastern. They will not be 10-1 to win finals, regardless of opposition.

It does make sense because they haven't won the East yet.

If & when they do, then obviously the odds/percentages will be vastly different (as their will only be two teams left).

It is not a god given right that the Cav's will win the East, as the Raptors, Heat, Celtics, Hawks & Bulls are not simply going to roll over with their belly's in the air...

I agree but let's be honest it's hard to see any of those teams beating the Cavs in 7 when they have HCA.
