Kobe is reaching his end in the NBA, is he top 10? top 25?

This is Kobe's last season; so where is Kobe on the list of best ever? top 10? top 25? top 50?

List some guys that you think are better than Kobe.

Here are just a few, because I'm not going to list all:

    Michael Jordan
    Wilt Chamberlain
    Hakeem Olajuwon
    Kareem-Abdul Jabbar
    Lebron James
    Stephen Curry

I thought Iverson was one bad ass player...

But remember his last two seasons? Wow.

    Kobe should of retired.

Hmmmmmm even though Kobe is absolutely worthless now. He still has to be in the top 10.

    Maybe... at #9

Chamberlain definitely above Kobe and I'd probably put Jabbar there as well.

Has any superstar ever had this bad of a final season? Why is he doing this? And he just keeps shooting. If he had integrity, he'd take the bench.

Not sure of what ranking because its hard to rank others from different era's but some current NBA players have mentioned him being there generations Michael jordan. Hard to argue that. Kobe at his best and that's hard to remember now but few that have played could be at that level.

that's why you can't put Kobe any lower than 5-6 max. i'd put him solidly at #5. just too many kids and squares around here whining about how 'bad' Kobe is now, who cares.

Oh god, Kobe playing like shit the last few years of his career and all of the sudden he's "maybe top 10" you idiots are clueless. In his prime only one or 2 players better period.

The real question is how much credit do you really give Kobe for the championships he won with Shaq? Shaq was the most dominant force in the game and Kobe was a great sidekick. Then Kobe won 2 without him, one vs the Orlando freakin Magic. Is that GOAT-level?

It's too hard to rank basketball players.

How do you decide who's better Kobe Bryant and Bill Russell? It's impossible. Too many factors come into play.

I think we can all agree he's the second-best shooting guard of all time.

    Stephen Curry

The stupidity of some posters on this site... Geez. What next, Kevin Durant? Those guys have to do a whole lot more to get into that discussion. Not saying they'll never be in it, but saying it now is ludicrous.

I haven't watched enough of past eras to know who is or isn't better than him in those eras. But he's the best I've seen for sure. If LeBron wins a couple more titles maybe that becomes a discussion, but compare how many good teams LeBron has defeated in the playoffs vrs Kobe... Only winning 2 titles with a free pass to the finals every year is disappointing in his 12th or 13th year in the league or whatever.

I'm sure they didn't mind adding a ring or two to their resumes if you're referring to his earlier teammates.

He has his character. Some like it. Many don't. But his career speaks for itself.

He would have won 1 or 2 more if not for the whole rape thing...

I mean we all have our criteria. The 2 things I value most when I judge a star player are 1) How many championships did you win? 2) What kind of competition were you up against in the playoffs in the years you won and the years you lost?

For instance I did gain some respect for LeBron James in how he made last year's Finals interesting. But I just can't get out of my head how easy it has been for him to make the Finals every year. He needs to beat a couple more Elite teams (so basically, West teams) to be in the conversation to me.

If some people (not saying you) would rather compare players by using player effiency ratings and stuff like that, that's their choice. I think it's misguided but they're entitled to their opinion. But they're generally the kind of people who get caught up in this whole thing of harping constantly on "unselfishness" and "team players" and who thought the Nuggets had a shot in the West in 2013 and the Hawks had a shot at beating the Cavs last year because they embodied what they think a team should be. The fact is that you don't win without stars in the playoffs.

You also gotta factor in teammates too. For some reason Lebron gets no credit for playing with trash in Cleveland for years and making people think Mike Brown was a good coach...yet people forget in the PRIME of his career when he didnt have a top 10 player or other All-Stars with him, Kobe's Lakers couldnt make it out the first round...
