    Lynx Get Better

They just acquired Silvia Fowles in a 3 team trade (with ATL and CHI) and aside from swapping draft picks they gave up a bench player and a bench warmer.

Silvia has been injured (ego injured sitting out because Della Donne is the starter in CHI) so she should be well rested going into the 2nd half of the season.

I don't see who can beat them in a series this year.

Disappointing trade. The Sky gave Fowles exactly what she wanted. They got better by adding DeSouza, but what's the point if you create a monster in the process?

Isn't there a salary cap in the WNBA?! The Lynx have 5 all-stars, one for each position.

878k cap...but the players can only make 105k so really not as important as in the NBA

All star does not mean much there are only 60 starters total. Other than Moore and Fowles their other players are average

Whalen is the best pg in the league by some distance. Augustus is overrated. Brunson is a bit lacking in skill.

Biggest red flag for the Lynx is chemistry; they've NEVER had a post player until now. They have v.little time to figure things out, beginning when Augustus returns.....

Your nuts dude, maybe you forgot about Augustus and Whalen. The Lynx will not lose a playoff game at home and they will have the best record in wnba.

Whalen getting a little older, both her and Augustus have no shooting range also so I think their are overrated being able to space the floor is very important. Minnesota only has one starter who can shoot the 3 ball and that is a problem.

I agree with those points. The commentators/ announcers were saying just the other day Whalen never gets to the line anymore. THey implied it was the refs but the reality is she is a bit slower. I still think she's the best pg but she has slipped a bit.

So who's the best team in the league? The Lynx? The Mercury? The Sparks?

Speaking of ageing point guards, Temeka Johnson is entirely washed up. She has the size of a munchkin and the speed of a snail. Sparks will be really good once Beard & Phillips return.

If I were to do a power rankings in the WNBA...

    1- Lynx
    2- Mercury
    3- Lynx or Mercury
    4- Liberty

Really impressed with Liberty taking the next step this year. Mercury I think is the only team that can beat Lynx, but beating Lynx 2 of 3 with 2 in Minnesota will be very hard.

Since Griner's return Mercury and Lynx are both 11-4 but Lynx have a win from Griner's first game back. Mercury might be the better team right now, we will have to see how Fowles helps or doesnt.

Um the Sparks at 100% are right there with anyone. Although they lost they were 12.5 point favorites for a reason.

They are ok at home, can't win at Minnesota in the playoffs (not that I can see the sparks beating Phoenix in a series).

Lynx and Mercury have looked horrible lately. Sparks win in Phoenix without Ogwumike

Going to be a great playoffs this year. Wide open in both conferences.

If anyone else is confused just substitute Lakers for Sparks and it will all make sense, what is in the water in LA?

I would love to see PHO and LA play a playoff series but I doubt LA can win enough games to get that 3 seed.

Right now I would put NY above PHO, but in a few more games lets see.

There is probably a reason though that NY is +900 and PHO is +275. I went to look up the numbers to see if I could find some decent futures but honestly after seeing the numbers I will stand pat on my MIN@+180.

Also brag, my SA loses 20+ games prop won last night

In my experience Laker fans seemed to be a little "optimistic" with their title chances than they should be. You and RM18 seem to be really high on the Sparks, who are going off @ 20-1 for the trophy and probably wouldn't win a playoff series vs any team that makes the playoffs.

All in good fun of course, we all have those teams we think are winning it all every year.

I'm not a fan I'm a punter, I try to look at things objectively. Only stating what I see here. Had the Lynx at #1 in my power rankings above, but they're clearly not the best today/ this past couple weeks.

And the Sparks (not the lakers) DID win in Phoenix without Ogwumike

Sparks are headed in the right direction (as far as offseason moves etc) but let's see what happens come playoff time.

I am also a punter, and would have taken Sparks under win total this year but the juice was -160+ so I let it go. Clearly it was easy money.

That's not punter talk my friend, that's reporting. You have to predict it before it happens if you want to make money. Look for the clues. Lynx btw have 22pts at halftime in Phoenix. Champions? 2/1 hmmm....

Like I say it's wide open. All it takes in the WNBA is 3 series wins and you're the champ. For the Sparks, a win in Minny and a win in Phoenix and 2 wins at home and they're in the finals. Ultimately I'd say the matchups are fairly even across the board. No team should be shorter than 5/1...

I learned a long time ago to leave the season wins markets alone -you can make more money fading a team in the games -greater turnover - if you think they're going to suck

I have predicted it, i choose sa to suck and cashed with 9 games left, would have done the same with LA but avoided the juice.

I have MIN +180 to take it all.

You are getting worked up about the last couple weeks, PHO, MIN and even NYL dont have much to play for.

I am worried Fowles might be somehow bad for MIN chemistry, but i am not going to panic.

Sparks are back in action tonight. They've played much better with Tolo at centre because it allows Lavender to play her natural 4-position. In the playoffs they'll be going against Griner/ Fowles so they need someone to provide that physicality... Brian Agler is the winningest coach in the WNBA but if he goes back to the old lineup upon Ogwumike's return he'll be a fool.

Must admit I thought coming out of the ASBreak with Parker back he'd make a sub of Ogwumike or Lavender immediately. Maybe he'll save it for the playoffs.....

I have come around, Sparks will be a handful and the East is wide open. If PHO and MIN get their shit together for the playoffs though I flip flop again
