For those who think the NBA is fixed, good story

I was watching the Knicks last night and with around 10 minutes left in the 3rd Q, Char was up 49-47 and the score down the bottom of the screen read just that. Then the score flashed to 53-51 for a few seconds then back to 49-47. Sure enough about 2 minutes later, the score was 53-51. Now there is always the chance that they screwed up the counter and bumped it up because it was a 2 point game in both instances but I just thought it was quite odd.

Are you trying to say that the game was already scripted and each player knows when to score and when to miss?

This doesn't really make any sense. Even if the game was pre-determined, the only way this would work is if the score was pre-determined for every second of the game all the way through, and that just isn't possible. Even a scripted game is going ot have some hiccups along the way.

    What probably happened?

I've never worked in TV, but I have worked in radio, and I'm assuming it works pretty much the same way. Every single broadcast runs on a delay (which is no surprise to anyone). I'm assuming the person back in the studio probably accidentally took the clock/counter out of delay for a few minutes, realized th emistake and put it back. Not sure if they can actually take the computer out of delay, but I wouldn't be at all surprised if they could.

still think its fixed, but that proportionally adjusted hiccup seems like a technical glitch moreso than funnybusiness. its like 2 golfers shooting par for 2 consequtive holes where people accomplish that all the time.

I just thought it was funny and love to add fuel to that fire but it really did happen. FWIW, I have also seen them add the score to the wrong side at the bottom scoreboard on screen, maybe dey r tarreted.

ok what you are saying is far fetched

    but check this out:

everyone's playing the over on this game, and lines going up all day, if it goes over bookies stand to loose a lot of money

we go into the final quarter, these teams start scoring like crazy, 21 points in 4 mins, over starts looking good, suddenly, no score for 4 whole mins, the under is locked, and for the last 4 mins these teams that couldnt drop a basket for 4 mins score 30 whole points, thats 7,5 point per minute

so books get the under from those who put money beforehand, and also took the money from those that bet the under at around the middle of the 4th quarter

I dont know bout you but that sounds fishy to me, could they have been instructed to keep it under? luckily, i was on the winning side of this mofo
